Turn chat.

Around 23:30-24:00 GMT is the normal time.

Just to double check this is 2330 5th May, not 6th May right? I would be able to make 6th May but may or may not make it for 5th May. I will be representing the Trade Department if I do turn up.

Then we will have to play the game the 10th (if it's that important). At the Normal time (can be found in above posts).

I don't like the 24 hour rule at all. I feel it is very inflexible & requires a tedious post every other day by the president to have to warn us early, while the president is trying to worry about other things.

How about these ideas:
- 10 hour rule. The president may announce the morning of. Maybe by 1200h GMT. This may be good if the President will be able to know if he/she is available that night.

- President releases a schedule every Sunday for the schedule of the week.

- We just play every other day - whoever shows up, gets to play.

We are unable to get exact times with the 24 hr posting any way. Of your 3 choices chief, I like the last one best. Unless we're going to move the games to be played on the weekends, then a standard every other day at a specific time that doesn't change (except when necessary - like someone flew a plane into the wtc) would be best. We should make it dependable so people could rely on it continually.

Thank you, Grey Fox.

I will not be able to attend , most likely, have family in town this weekend. I will try to arrange for my deputy or chat rep to attend.

Didn't you write that part in the constitution about the 24 hour notice? Didn't the cabinet approve it? You all need to stick by the rule or change the constitution again.

Chiefpaco and Cyc are now suggesting what I suggested before the constitution was amended with the 24 hour rule:

Post a regular schedule ahead of time - every other day at whatever time GMT and whoever can make it from the CoC plays. If no one shows no one plays.

Most likely, I'll be able to attend. My family and I are going to my granmother's for Mother's Day, but we should be home before the chat starts. If not, I'll leave a message of what to do in the chat instructions page just in case.

It's 6:00/6:30 EST, my time, (the chat) so, we might be home by then. I can see where people on the west coast, or in mountain/central time zone might not be able to make it.

Yes. Yes. I agree.

Everybody thought it was a good idea at the time. It has since proven to not work like we had thought. If a 24 hour notice isn't maintainable then a 7 day notice certainly won't be, that's why I'll be championing chiefpaco's 10 hour idea.

Whoa! again Shaitan. Slow down here. I think we're going the wrong way. You're saying a 24 hour plan didn't work, so let's make it a 10 hour plan? No, I think that's too long still. Let's make it a 1 hour notice. that way when people see it they'll know to be there in 1 hour. Good plan, no?

Making the notice time shorter will not help. The only thing it will do is reduce the amount of attendees at each chat. We need to implement a regularly scheduled program.

As I wasn't home yesterday evening, and I didn't come home until early this morning (or right now...), I couldn't post this any earlier.

If we are allowed to play (even though I posted late), I would like us to play tonight at the regular time.

Which would mean, today the 14th at 24:00 GMT.

Thank you Grey Fox.
