Actually I reinstalled CIV and BtS on Saturday, and I haven't installed any new patches so I have no idea why I would have any different custom assets.

It was not you who caused the message nor Ronnie, but another incomming player...you get the message before someone logs in the game.

He means you get the mod message...not benefits...

The problem is that you cannot tell whether someone is using BUG or another innocent mod or something that makes an impact..

I think we can assume that nobody is going to attempt to alter their game files to cheat. Even if they did, the other teams (and even their own team) would pick it up pretty quickly. So I wouldn't worry about it.

EDIT: Never mind. It must have been someone from SANCTA that caused the issue.

It sounds like it might have been me - could having the HOF mod loaded cause this? I logged in a couple of times before Krill and Ronnie.

I'll be more careful in the future if I log in to check the game.

You can't go to multiplayer when you have the hof mod loaded so it would have to be something else(like one of the unofficial patches or something).

I got a similar message (your files don't match the host) in a game I was playing in, never did figure out exactly what caused it. After a while it stopped, without having done much of anything.

I got the message again three times today, corresponding to the three logins done by Krill, so it was surely he that caused it yesterday too. So obviously he and I have some version mismatch.

Maybe it's you that has the different game version, Niklas? Hard to tell without other people logging in when either of you are logged in.

Hmm, I'll do another reinstall again when I get chance over the next few days, but if it doesn't go away then it isn't me.
