Turn Discussion

The Pitboss clock for this game runs slow mainly because there are so many people logging in for each turn. Each login pauses the timer, then also adds two minutes to the clock once the person logs in. (Presumably this is so that if you log in right as the turn's about to flip, you get some more time to play.) Even when no-one is logging in though, the Pitboss clock still runs a bit slow.

This is no issue, by the way - we can just reduce the number of hours on the Pitboss clock to match it up with the "real world" clock. :)

I've heard the pitboss server clock doesn't working when the game is processing certain things (I believe unit movements and stuff).

My opinion:
The clock pause is important, because if someone connect with the game, you have to pause and can't make anything.

btw
In the moment there isn't 24 hours after this.

hmm, according to civ stats there are 2hrs 15 left, but according to the board it is about 40mins... :(

As already mentioned the game clock is what matters :) not the strict 24 hours of the day...

MS have been good though and finished within their real 24hr :goodjob:

@Methos no problem. i can't get past anyone's firewall :(

Team Cav up now!

Sounds like it is your firewall that is doing it, not everyone elses :p.

Yeah, I was just about to suggest that. If it becomes a problem, Memphus, then we can probably help you to reconfigure your firewall to work better for these games. ;)

EDIT: Dave, please move the posts from oyzar and myself to the Turn Discussion thread. Sorry, didn't notice where we were posting. :)

I could do it myself, by i am not going to go and change the firewall setting on my corporations server...so SANCTA will move the save quickly, i just need people to log out ;)

Tut tut, playing Civ at work. :p

Man, I'm glad I managed to get my girlfriend addicted to Civ. Makes life so much easier. :p

not gonna get fired. i route my civ through someone else's IP ;)

i'm just the boss sitting in his office going over "reports"

GNP reports
MFG reports
crop yields
soldier count

you know everyday reports ;)

Moved, though I left mine there since it interfered with the turnplayer. One of the other mods can move those two if they feel it is best.

I'm curious as to how many threads and posts are in the various team forums? It's nearly 3 months since the team forums were set up, so it'd be interesting to compare - might give us some idea of activity levels in the different teams. ;)

Saturn: 36 threads, 1562 posts

If no-one from your team has posted their answer below yet, feel free to reply yourself. :)

Kazakstan people love to talk...so we have 69 threads and 3.006 posts...

yeah, typical topics include "How to make wine from fermented horse pee", "club or sharp rocks, what best way to kill lion?" and "Poll: who has greatest moustache?"

Wow, and I thought we were doing well... but then these guys with the moustaches and funny accents come along and double our achievements... :p
