OK, just checked Civstats, and for some reason it said that all terams except Kaz were eliminated, and that Cavs have finished there turn? Something screwy with civstats? Or has some bug caused Cavs to end turn prematurely?

Don't worry. This tends to happen all the time.

Yep, just a bug with Civstats when the connection to the game gets interrupted (often because the game goes down). Don't worry, Kaz didn't actually manage to win that quickly.

We are the first team to break 30 members and we finally passed saturn again . though sadly not all of those are activly participating of course.

More than half of our team members don't participate that much though (in the actual demogame).

4.1 -- Turn Timer
The PitBoss server will give each team 24 hours in which to play the save and pass it on to the next team. If a team is unable to play in time, they may post a request for an extension in the turn-tracker thread, and state the reason they believe it should be granted. AFTER the extension request and rational have been posted in the turn tracker, that team may then pause the game.

Hey Josh & Saturn, If you need a pause you only have 1.5 hours left, might want to get in thier to do it. If for some reason no one can access the game and you need a pause, please post so someone can jump in and pause it for you.

Not that important considering the pause, but the game has been down for about 2 hours, according to civstats. I can't login in either.

Well with Saturn it wasn't something unexpected, but rather another civilization being a little late with an important response.
