Turn Tracker

It is now almost 3 days since BABE played the last turn, I am new to demo games but right now I see the progress in this game as ridiculous. What on earth can require teams to need a full day for a turn? Especially on a weekend? If the leadtime is this horrendous at this point in the game, will we have made it to 10AD by this time next year??? Maybe this is not the right place to bring this matter to the other teams attention but something has to be done about this if the game is to be enjoyable. I would have imagined weekends would allow for speedier progress with maybe a full turncycle per day...

Really annoyed now, no turn played and none on your team that could have figured out the wrong turn was sent 35 hrs before your post...

And no alternate to play the turn in your absense? Would have assumed another teammember would step in in a demo game. Instead of letting all other teams fiddle their tumbs for so long. Your team lacks respect for the other teams in my opinion when putting everything on a player that is not available... Just my 2 cents but really disappointed in this MTDGs progress. In a SG you have 24 hrs to post a got it you your team was AWOL for much much longer. We would like all teams to make sure turns are actually not dependant on a single player being available.

From another player on our team who digged this up from the rules we agreed on:
1.1 - The Save
All teams are required to play the save within 24 hours, unless they request an extension in the Turn Tracker thread. After playing the save, they must send it to the next team via email. Additionally, the turnplayer must post in the Turn Tracker thread to indicate the save has been sent. The next team's 24 hours begins after said post.

I guess it could be an issue, needing extentions when dealing with dozens of cities and units, but at this stage of the game it is simply ridiculous...

I'm sorry everyone, but Team GONG is not as active as all of you. There is barely any participation in their forum. To assume they can play as quick as all of you is naive. I agree that three days is ridiculous, but when they is only a handful of people around, and one of them is away, that's what's going to happen. As always, we have a few teams with lots of people that pile on, unaware that by doing so, it hurts the other teams. In any case, that's the way things are. Hopefully Team GONG can stick within the 24 hours notice from now on - if you're going to be away though, it would be nice to have prior notice (you could create the Absence Thread) just so other teams aren't raging.

I too feel for you guys in GONG, it is unfortunate you have such an uncommitted team. I there anything the entire MTDG group of players can do to assist you? Do you need additional turn players? Do you want us to start bullying others we know but that have not joined the game to enlist for team GONG?

But it is impossible for us to have an understanding if not privvy to the reasons behind it. If TimB is the only available turn player on team GONG this will probably be a disaster in waiting. Relying on TimB to be available throughout the passage of this game sounds as a forbidding idea and I sure hope he will have some assistance from others on the team else I guess he will have nothing but MTDG2 on his mind and on his computer for the next couple of years. And I do hope he will have time to play for our team in SGOTM12 ;)

Not having full disclosure as to what is behind a team's silence is just aggravating and starts all sorts of reactions to start surfacing. Not our team's intention to bully someone in a precarious situation. Sorry about that. On paper all teams are within a couple of participants of each other.

Would it be possible for one of the admins to pick up the save for a team if they couldn't play?
