Tutorial Build Campus bug

Hi there, new to civ vi. In tutorial, we need to select a tile to build our campus. The tute directs user to the specified hex. But unable to do anything else once selected. No further dialogues or instructions are displayed. Restarted and same problem. No other buttons work than to look around or exit. Tutes are not saved, apparently. Google blank.

Having trouble replicating this. Are you playing Cleopatra or Gilgamesh?

Hey Browd, thanks for replying. Cleo. Didnt think to try Gilgamesh. Started a settler game anyhoo. Using civpedia to work stuff out. Found one other entry on google where someone had exactly same issue, but response is buried deep in a many paged and multi issue thread. Need a desktop to go through it. 100 thank yous anyway. Yeah, the problem with the tutorial is that it is highly scripted, and any deviation from what the tutorial expects (such as choices made in scouting) can lead to a freeze. Jumping right into a Settler game is the right choice.

We've only recently tracked down the exact cause of this. If you do want to play through the tutorial again, make sure your scout doesn't have any queued movement on the turn that you need to build the Campus.

I’ve experienced this twice (both times I’ve tried to play this game.) Being totally new to Civ since the original game way way back I thought I’d follow the tutorial. And each time it comes to an end when I go to place the campus.

And can you please explain how can I do that? I am having the same problem, but I cannot figure out how to cancel the Scout moves, as right at the beginning the turn when I have to build the Campus, I have no other choice as the Advisor doesn't let me to go back or do any other move.

Apologies. Go to the scout and click on cancel in his actions. Then next turn u build the campus. If too late to do this then new game, unfortunately. That is not so horrible as you can quickly catch up to that point. Then instead of sending scout more hexes than he has moves for, only send him to the hex he can actually reach in that turn.
