2 killed, 14 injured in twin blasts in China

BEIJING: At least two persons were killed and 14 others injured in two explosions in public buses in southwest [COLOR=blue ! important][FONT=Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif][COLOR=blue ! important][FONT=Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif]China[/FONT][/FONT][/COLOR][/COLOR], the police said.

One explosion occurred near a bus stop and the other at a nearby intersection at downtown Kunming city in Yunnan province, state media quoted the police as saying.

Police cordoned off the area around the bus stop where broken glass was scattered, official Xinhua news agency said. The front portion of the bus was destroyed, it said.

Police confirmed both explosions but provided no more details, the agency said. The cause of the blast has not yet been ascertained, it said.
