Hey folks,

Just thought I'd point out that Underground Online (www.ugo.com) has created a Civ 3 Conquests minisite complete with an interactive timeline and a sweepstakes.

The fact that no one here has caught it suggests that we (Atari) did a good thing by approaching UGO about this -- it means that we're reaching people outside our most active fanbases (such as CivFanatics) with information about the expansion pack. Nevertheless, I didn't want the folks here to go without seeing the coverage.

Enjoy!

Thank you for the update Jeff.

Nice:)

Though the only new thing was a small pic of the Carrack I think.

1st, Thx to arkammler for the link :goodjob:

2nd, we also learn some new things about Seafaring trait: it gives a Curragh if you start near the sea and it gives you cheaper Water-wonders (Magalhães Voyage for example...) :)

And of course:
Thx Jeff for once again guiding us towards the light ;)
. We are just lucky to have you arround :goodjob:

Other minor tidbits:

- cheaper wonders for civilizations of associated trait(s)...? (See 'Agricultural' under 'Mesopotomia')
- Enkidu Warrior has additional hit point(s) (See 'Enkidu Warriors' under 'Mesopotomia')
- Portugese Carrack had increased transport capacity (See 'Carrack' under 'Age of Discovery')
- The Trebuchet (sp) can be seen in the background of the 'Age of Discovery' section
- New Cruiser unit (see 'Cruisers' under 'World War II in the Pacific')

Thats not correct, its one of a few bits of misinformation in the article.

Babylon is now Agricultural - I hadn't noticed that one anywhere before.

I would have though Babylon would stay the same and that Egypt would become Agricultural and Religous.
It would be strange to completly change the 'Cultual Victory' character of Babylon. Ho hum.

Babylon isn't agricultural, and seafaring trait doesn't give a free curagh. Nice prizes for the contest though, just wish I could enter ;)

Thanks, Merepatra, I'll get the corrections to them. At one point in time I think some of their misinformation was true, before continued testing and rebalancing. They put it all together with an early draft of the manual and several screenshots I sent their way.

For everyone else -- you would not believe how hard it is to get the correct info about a game out there, especially when some of that changes along the way. There are still preorder sites that talk about only 8 new conquests, there are articles written talking about the 5 new civs.... it's a giant game of Telephone!

Best,

they also say arabia is new, and feature a pic of the ansar horsman- all the better reason to release unit art of the cataphract ASAP :D

Ouch! So some people don't even know what they are talking about here. ;) It is also bad because some fans that check preorder sites might get the wrong information if they don't know any other sources but I bet most do. :crazyeye:
