I have to say, I am rather shocked at this. It seems that 9 out of the 14 housemates this year have actually been in 'dry runs' of previous years of Big Brother.

For example, here is a picture of Pete (from this year) with Vanessa (from a couple of years ago):

Here is Sezer with that Scottish body builder from a few years ago:

And here is Imogen with some random:

It also seems that, last year at least, Big Brother approached talent agencies for contestants - that's how Makosi and Derek got in.

There is also a rumour that the 2 new housemates to enter the house won't be golden ticket winners - they are housemates from last year! One of them is Mary - the witch who was evicted in the first week of last year.

It does make a complete mockery of all those people auditioning, don't you think (not to mention getting folk to buy all those KitKats for nothing)?

Tbh, I think they do a fine job of that all by themselves, but yes, I am quite shocked at this, and I do care...

People still watch big brother. Ha

I'm not shocked. Most reality shows are scripted.

The Scottish body builder in the second picture looks disturbingly alot like the gay guy from Coronation Street.

There's actually lots of rumours about who's going to be the new housemates. it is two ex-housemates, but I've heard that it might not be Mary - it might be Lesley (Christ alive!). And Dennis Rodman.

I think the real issue is-who cares?

Amen brother, when I reached this post I read no further.

When lowest common denominator TV has you caring, then you are one step from spitting half chewed doritoes out of your slavering mouth, knocking down large tins of Stella and shouting 'YOUR 'AVIN A LAUGH INT YA?' at the telly. This is not, I repeat not good for your general well being.

Does Big Brother claim that all contestants are "randomly selected" or are they open about asking in casting bureaus ?

It claims that everyone goes through auditions, and that everyone has an equal chance. What really happens, it seems, is that Big Brother grooms their housemates years in advance.

when I read the title, I thought the UK had stopped license plate monitoring or something like that ;)

I don't think that they would allow fat people on the show, even though the average Briton or westerner is at least overwieght. So much for it being real. ;)

There are no kitkats on the other side of the border?

And zulu, why do you care about the system's ignorance induction machine? ;)

Yes there are. I'm just curious what cat-food or chocolate biscuits have to do with a TV-show. I still have no explanation for "It does make a complete mockery of all those people auditioning, don't you think (not to mention getting folk to buy all those KitKats for nothing)?"

That would most likely had been a promo. Maybe they won something to do with the show, but I am just guessing.
