Map : Fractal
Random weather, sea level, random civ

Can it gets more random than that ?

I mean Fractal maps are made by 'fractal calculation' (dah), mainly mandela types, and I am never getting Archipelago maps, often 5 civs on one continent and 2 on another one.

What is the most random game you can generate ?

Random Map Type?

BTS will open up some randomness. Random leader with random/different civ

Advanced starts might allow random era.

That would be a lot of surprises.

The good thing about advanced starts is to remove the random factor of the early game :mischief: .
If you want a random game, use someone else's save in the trash game format

Random, random, random..
Shuffle is not as "random" as Fractal is.

I think what he means is that fractal can generate a map with islands, and archipelago, AND 2 continants, etc. While shuffle will only generate islands, or continants, or snake-like, OR pangea.

But for some reason, Fractal maps ends up to look very familiar (played over 100 fractal games). But I love the fact that ressources are very random, even if Aluminium sometimes can't be found anywhere, because of the time period.

What I originally meant is that in Civ 3, you have this option to set everything random. By random, I mean totally random :crazyeye:

I read on one of these forums that Shuffle chooses one of: Archipelago, continents, pangaea, or fractal.

Most of what I play is large shuffle, random climate, random sea level, random civs/leaders (including me). But always ancient era, and I don't check Random Personalities.

Note that you can check the climate and sea level from the "Settings" screen, but have to figure out the map as you go along.

peace,
lilnev
