Unable to use full screen with external monitor hooked to my laptop

Whenever I start game with external monitor, game defaults to windowed with borders.

Trying to enable fullscreen does nothing and shows weird resolution information.
See attached screenshot.


My specs:
Dell Inspiron 7520SE (i5-3210M/7730M/6GB/1TB/15.6")
+
LG M2362DP (23" Full HD Monitor TV)



EDIT:
Game works fine in fullscreen when vieweing directly on my laptop screen.
But I would rather play in 1080p on my external monitor then with tiny 1366x768 resolution.

I do not trust these kind of download and we will fix it for you patches.
If you know, please tell me how to do this myself manually.
