Indeed - the 'both named for the same Archmage' theory is quite possible. Another possible explanation is that the 'Bradeline's Well' name is a more recent moniker, perhaps a reference to the well turning into an out-of-control fountain of entropic energy. Bradeline's story is probably well-circulated among mages, as a cautionary tale both for those who dabble in demon-summoning, and those who tend overmuch towards showmanship. Whatever happened to the Well, it's entirely possible that someone looked at the mess and said "Hey, this reminds me of the story of that idiot, Bradeline. Let's name this disaster after him!"
