More inspiration. :yeah:

0007cimbri.jpg

This Persian Light Cavalry could be used by most (if not all) Middle Eastern civilizations. I think it is sorely needed unit. The colourfulness of the rider is also quite amazing. He’d look good on the tiny little battlefield of Civilization III.

0008cimbri.jpg

This chap has a more genuine ‘Persian’ feel to him. Guess he’d charge in with a javelin then finish off his enemy with his axe.

000_Persian_Heavy_Cavalry.jpg

The heavy Persian cavalryman is a product of the recurrent dynastic squabbles. They became the shock troops in the clashes between rebels and other contenders for the Persian throne.

0009cimbri.jpg

Spanish/Iberian Cavalry. Suitable cavalry unit for Carthage, would be quite useful in any Punic Wars related scenario.

0010cimbri.jpg

This Macedonian cavalryman here could also be used by all of Alexander’s successors and all Hellenistic civilizations.

0012cimbri.jpg

Yet a Hellenistic-era unit. Could be universally used by all Hellenistic civilizations. He looks pretty cool with that lion skin on his horse. Nevermind endangered species.

0011cimbri.jpg

Gothic Cavalry. A simple but intimidating horseman. Could double as Germanic horseman. This is also a unit I have been missing.

:D

How about a CES coal plant. This is a new tech that is being built in the US that uses coal and produces zero emissions. The CO2 is liquefied and pumped underground to depressurize old coal seams (to extract methane), repressurize old oil beds (to extract up to 25% of previously inaccessible reserves) or pumped into saline beds. Electric output/cost is still the same but emissions are 0. Maybe a new tech on the since board also. Here is a link to the white paper. It will also run on natural gas and landfill gas.

http://www.cleanenergysystems.com/TechPapers/Australiapaper101501.htm

BTW the US has enough demonstratable coal reserves to last another 100 years by the most conservative estimates and 480 by the most liberal.

Amazing what you learn by playing CIV.

Grace and Peace

I need a worker in a spacesuit. Should be just like modern worker, except with a fishbowl helmet and an oxygen tank. Included is a crude pcx that I can't get flicster to convert (?) but it gives you the idea. If someone can just convert it to a civ flc for me that would be great.

Two warriors, one with prilibits covering face and the other with a full litchina

i always wanted to somehow include elf/dwarf units into real life mods. however, i have been doing research and real life units are more interesting thsn fantasy units! check out this 13th century russian warrior on the left with the mask.

clotharm.jpg

This picture shows two mounted warriors each wearing a tegliya, and shapka zheleznaya. They are armed with a rogatina. The man on the right in the picture has a naluch for his luch and a kolchan full of arrows.

mtdjav.jpg

This heavily armed warrior from the 14-17 century is wearing a bakhterets over a kol'chuga, and a shelom or yerikhonka on his head. (The illustration is not quite detailed enough to be sure.) He has buturliki on his legs and naruchi on his forearms. He is throwing a sulitsa and carrying a djid and naluch on the left side and a kolchan on the right.

mtdwar1.jpg

the warriors in eastern europe had a very diffeernt military tradition than western europe ie france/ england. you can see the blend of asian influence creating something very unique and alien in their armor. i hope someone would make unitsof these very interesting flavor units for russia, but also for baltic/ukranian/polish civ

After seeing all riptide's great units today, it reminded me that I would really love someone to make a Sunderland Flying Boat. This was a WWII anti-submarine plane which could land on water. It would be a great addition to many a CIV scenario, and it also has some personal meaning for me because my Grandad used to fly them.

Some images & detail here:

a request for chinese units in general (not jap, not Korean, but CHINESE!!), for late han period...

also, to restate an old request by citizen001, could someone pls make the hero units from Romance of the Three Kingdoms

Here are a few units which I think are *indispensible* to a WWII or early Cold War scenario. Not that they need to be made right now, but eventually someone should do them...

The Soviet IS-2 (JS-2) heavy tank! The heavy breakthrough tank for the USSR in 1944-45, replacing the KV series, and also used by Polish and Czech units with the Red Army. After the war, IS-2s made their way to several of the communist European nations and to Asia ones as well - including the PRC, North Korea, and I think some even made their way to Vietnam and served against the French or the US, or both(?)

Here's a photo of some PLA IS-2s on parade. Note the anti-aircraft MGs on the top - I would give it an Air Defense rating of 1 in the game.

Chi-IS2.jpg

And the Soviet ISU-152 self-propelled heavy assault gun. A non-traversible 152mm gun in a big metal box! Used by the USSR and a number of other Allied/communist countries. Also employed by the Finns, who captured 2 of them in 1944 from the Red Army.

Here's a photo of a Polish ISU-152:

A couple units:
Does anyone want to make:
1. A multifigure riflemen unit just like Misfit_travel's that is like 4 wide and two deep for a larger division/corps

2. A multifigure of Nemesis Rex's french riflemen for zouave larger unit. (Maybe change it to a red hat and do a single and multiple.) (A 3 and 4 wide but 1 deep)

3. Either:
a: single of elsilhe's dismounted cavalry that like stands by horse to fire
b: multi (maybe 3 units) of one or both of Nemesis Rex's civil war cavalry

I would like to somehow hear if someone has read it or decided to make them or thinks it's too large of an undertaking for someone to do. Part 3, if you really want to do a and b, I won't object :mischief:

i´d like to request the Junkers Ju-52.

Ju52_2_KGrzbV1.jpg

it should be used as an early air transport unit - so if anyone likes to do that, i would like to have it not as a unique german unit, but usable for all civilisations. pictures of that plane are widely spread in the internet, that shouldn´t be the problem. thx if anyone like´s to do that, i guess, i wouldn´t be the only one, who could have use of that unit!

If anyone feels up to the challenge, I would love to see a set of insectoid units. I would use them as Klackons for an addition to Drift's Master of Myrror mod, a race from the original Master of Magic and pulled forward into the Master of Orion series, as well. Kinboat's spiders are a wonderful inspiration, so that might be a good starting point (albeit with two fewer legs). I realize animating six legs is a challenge, I'm just betting some adventuresome sort out there is up to it!

Thanks.

Kataphraktoi
A heavy Horseman used by the byzantines in the Middle ages
it looks like Blackfires last requested unit but the horse is armoured all the way like UtahJazzes Heavy cataphract. It was used first in the 11th century all the way to the 15th century as extremly heavy shock calvarly in the game it would be replacement for knight with 4.6.1 and 90 shields

MiniDesccription
The Byzantine Kataphraktoi was the Imperial Armys Heavy Calvarly
They were used extensivly when defend from Turkish/Ottoman attacks
Though slow and expensive this is no comfort to the opposing force!

Pronolias Alligaon(might be misspelled)

the Pronolias were byzantine medium calvarly which wore medium plate mail with the cataphract helmet with medium scale mail on the horses front.
Could be used as medium Calvarly with fuedalism with 4.2.3 with 60 shields

Mini Description
In the 1400s byzantium was weakend extencivly and needed to use as little resourses as possible so they made medium calvarly much more then Heavy Shock Calvary(kataphraktoi) so they made the pronolias. The pronolias were sent to take back the cites of Byzantium. They worked for 30 years but were defeated then the Ottomans were aiming they're forces for the walls of Byzantium.

Where can I find an american infantry unit like this one (exatly the same collors and with the kevlar)? Thanks

Could someone make a decent Dreadnought WW1 Battleship? Several people have made them but either they lack CivPedia icons, or they don't look Civ3-like enough, or both.

[EDIT]: OK, I got one, thanks Wyrmshadow... now I need an Early Destroyer, perhaps like this:

I know Cimbri posted requests for some persian units. I'm gonna make a second request for that and also and to the requested units. I'm making a Perisan Modpack and I'm gonna need those units. I hope somebody would be kind enough to make them for me. I tried to make some of the flc files but i'm really not good at it, but they might help anyone who tries to make the units. here are the units.

1) Perisan Immortal Archer which could be an immortal with a bow

2) Persian Immortal with a spear and a wall sheild

3) Persian War Wagon Tower

4) Persian Camel

5) Persian Chariot Archer

if anyone wants to try to make these units contact me. I have so many picture that might help make them better
