Ive noted the absence of ancient Greek horsepower. So I hereby submit some requests for some Greek cavalrymen.
'Universal' Light Horse-javelinman, light horseman, horse-skirmisher, longchophoi, etcetera.
This could be quite an appropriate horseman unit for most Mediterranean/Mid-Eastern civilizations. A guy, in plain clothes, armed with javelins (
throwing spears), no saddle, no shield, no armour, and no nonsense. Personally I think it is a unit that has been missing from the scenarios for quite some time, alas it seems it has yet to be requested. Well, let me remedy the situation at once. Im currently using the Ansar warrior for all my ancient civs.
Thessalian Horsemen (
Notice the neat hat)
Predating Cowboys with quite a few centuries indeed, these guys were some of the most awesome horsemen. Well okay, they were good, or more likely they were Greeks who could tell one end of a horse from the other. What type of attack? Perhaps a javelin-attack and a melee-attack, a stabbing-spear?
Just a type of Generic Greek cavalryman. Would make a good later Prodomoi I gather. He would attack with a stabbing spear rather than a javelin. Unlike the other horsemen in this request, this fella carries a shield.
Thracian javelinmen on horseback. Quite a few of these guys fought for the Greeks in various campaigns. Id love to see this unit made.
Light Persian Horseman. Just a little something for the Persians.
Macedonian Companion Cavalryman. Attacks with a long spear or a lance.
