Unit Request Thread 3

That isn't BSG. That is just a sad attempt at a remake.

Now before anyone thinks otherwise, I have no problem if anyone enjoys this version.
Please just state which version you're referring to to prevent mix ups in future.

I just wanted a utility ship for late in my game, my game goes into the 23rd century.

I liked the Raptor and when I noticed that the Raptor was the only notable ship not made for BSG, I figured it would be a valid request.

I could use the toy these kids are playing with.

Don't want the generic Civ3 one that came with the game? :D

Yes, rhetorical.

Hallo everyone!

And I'd like to place a request for a set of realistic units if I may...:

Could someone do a settler-worker-military units for Arctic-dwelling and East Siberian tribes, please?
They developed very slowly and there is no need to make separate sets for different eras.
- I mean ethnic groups like the Innuits , Chukchee, Hantee-Mansee, and Evenee and Evenkee, and Udehe, and Nanai peoples and other on?

i'm trying to include those into an expanded East Asian Mod, and have searched through the whole forum to find a suitable set for the East-Siberian-High Arctic tribes. - But alas, none is there.

It is an interesting group and absolutely not represented even with a single unit.

All the great unit artworks are devoted to the tribes of North America (Amerindians) but not to the natives of Siberia.

- maybe some experienced unit artist could get interested in creation of some units (including a settler and a worker) for the Arctic peoples and peoples of the Eastern Siberia, too?

In addition to a settler, a worker and a hunter the next most important unit is reindeer sledge (can be used as a fast-movint tundra-settler AND as the only substitute for all cavalry units for the Eskimo|Innuit, Chukchee, Hatee peoples of higher North).
For East-South Siberia tribes there can be a special unit of laika-dog narta-sledge + Kayuur running after it (so it can be a kind of Multi-unit) instead of reindeer slege unit with the same functions (fast-moving Siberian settler + cavalry substitution).

The appearance of the High Arctic units is obvious, but as for the Southern-Eastern Siberia units - I should post some pictures here.
It would be great if somebody get interested.
I am unable to do them myslef, unfortunately.

This is just a couple of images to give a feel of the 'frozen jungles' of the Eastern Siberia...

Life of little Onoko orphan girl

Onoko was the only child in her family. No son had her father no other daughter had her mother.
Little girl took the boy's toy - to learn to be a good hunter when she becomes older, to help her father.
Little laika-dogs and little reindeer carved of wood were her best friends, and little narta-sledge were her favourite doll.
Boy-child bow was her best toy.

Quickly grew Onoko-girl, father and mother loved her dearly. But one day amban'-merchants came from the south to the little taiga village.
Black plaque came with them. Every one died in the tribe. Little Onoko got left alone in this world.
Old beldame of the next tribe let Onoko live with her in her chum - as a family slave.

- Do not you harm me, Oh Great Amba, I have no one to ask for help.
- I shall not kill you now, little Onoko. Iron-Birch tree is protecting you and the crows are squeaking into the ears of the Heaven Shaman. But wander away from your people no more, little orphan girl.

Hard was life in this middle world for the little Onoko. The older she grew the more fierce the beldame became. One day Onoko came to the great Amur river and pleaded - Oh, gentle spirits of flowing water and the cunning spirits of the endless taiga and stern spirits of the cold mountains - let me go the next world to my father and mother - and she pleaded and pleaded.
And she then saw her little toy laika-dogs and her toy narta-sledge coming to her swiftly.
- Little Onoko you called us and we came - her Laika-dogs barked ringingly - quickly jump onto the narta sledge we shall take you from the evil beldame and illnesses of this world. And they left to the next life, happy life where the river is always kind and winter is warm and taiga is full of game and people are good.
Onoko saw her mother and father and built her house there and lived forever on a happy life.

If you're posting a lot of pictures it's a good idea to put each picture in spoiler tags for people with slower connections.

Great request though, as I already said in the other thread. I totally second this!

Nice idea Nick ,but graphics in a spoiler getting loaded as well. No loading improvement.

I third this request !

I fourth that request!

I like the tiger.

Well, BSG seems to like the retro look. If I don't use the original Battlestar Galactica textures, then it wouldn't be the BSG ship. I was consciously going for the look of BSG. What precisely did you have a mind? Make it silver like the enterprise or borg cube? :) Only thing I might do is tone the lighting down a bit and give it less civ color.

If you want a grey (or different color) version though, I can do that too. In some of the battle scenes, some look like a dark grey, but I thought it was just because of being in space with little light!

 Really? Actually I was just repeating what I'd seen others say before. Also I like spoiler tags because they make a post more readable and oderly.

Nice, but I don't think WIP pictures should be featured in the Request Thread.
