Unit Request: U.S Army Ranger

I think that the U.S Ranger would much more accuretlly depict Americas military in a UU then the current, craptastic UU they have now.....

I also want to see a US army ranger, Circa 1940s Perhaps an airbourne ranger with either a Thompson Sub machine gun or a BAR (browning automatic rifle).
Perhaps you should find some images.

I would prefer this unit with the Thompson.

Rather than the MP40 from the image above.

But the Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR) would be cool too. Though not as cool as the Thompson SMG.

He's carrying a grease gun, a .45 submac developed as a cheap and reliable alternative to the thompson.

No, if you look close you will notice that the gun he holds is round while the mp40 isn't.

I think this would be a great unit to see in the game. But would it have altered stats or just be a flavour unit?

I will use it as a UU for the Americans to replace the Paratrooper. The F-15 then becomes a flavor unit since having an Air UU is rather pointless.

@Vdog - Very Cool, would love to see that unit done as well, but with a few minor modifications. I would like to see him with knee and elbow pads and with his pants tucked into his boots.

He doesn't quite fit the role I am looking for as a WWII replacement for the standard Paratrooper but he is definitely cool and will make an excellent flavor unit replacement for the more modern SpecOps units.

Might I also suggest you look at Balou's Modern Infantry units line or any of Kinboat's units for guidance on proper human animations. Nothing worse than a cool model with less than stellar animations.

The leg issue is because the pants are....for lack of a better word "puffyer" in real life so they look bigger....that preview looks real good though .....Great job there
