Unoffical Offical CFC Minecraft Server (In testing)

I contributed with 2304 cobblestone blocks in total today. Please be gentle to them.

Random announcement

I've spoken with croxis about another potential expansion. While the two first towns have been mountaintop strongholds and Minestaff a flatland city, I will probably found a city in the middle of the great lakes south of Fanatica in a few days. The city will act as a naval post with a continued allegiance to king Kan and therefore the Empire, Venice-inspired and based upon floating platforms on the water surface. I am currently pondering a number of architectural styles to use. When I have decided on that, I will probably start the construction on the first couple of huts.

I love Civtown and will think of it as my home in the CFC Minecraft world. But I want to travel and see how such a project would work out. I don't know what is to be done about my hovel in Civtown, though. I really love the way my neighbours made the entrance elegant and easy to enter, yet subtle to spot. I will probably chop down the tree. I need more lumber.

We'll be sad to see you go but as Mayor of Civtown I'm glad to see we're finally producing colonies :p

Who thinks the server slowdowns and frequent restarts are unacceptable?!

"I do I do! Mr croxis how can it be fixed? "

We can not return to my home server as I simply do not have enough upload bandwidth. The current server just does not have enough ram for what is being asked of it.

But we can upgrade it!

"Yah lets do it! But croxis, what is this "we" business?"

Currently I pay $20 a month for a virtual server with 512 megs of ram. For $30 a month ($10 more) we can move to a 768 meg server. On my current income (which is none) I can not justify this cost alone. I need your help to cover at least some of the operating costs.

If we can raise $60 I will be able to upgrade the server for three months.

I am currently investigating options on how to do this that does not involve paypal (Google Checkout maybe, or any other good suggestions). I should have this information ready my tomorrow morning.

I would have no problem paying five bucks as a minimum myself. If everyone kicks in five, six or seven flat, we would amass the required gold no problem.

Also, I just registered on the site.

Please take into consideration these guidelines while designing a flag:

1. Keep It Simple
The flag should be so simple that a child can draw it from memory…

2. Use Meaningful Symbolism
The flag’s images, colors, or patterns should relate to what it
symbolizes…

3. Use 2–3 Basic Colors
Limit the number of colors on the flag to three, which contrast well and
come from the standard color set…

4. No Lettering or Seals
Never use writing of any kind or an organization's seal…

5. Be Distinctive or Be Related
Avoid duplicating other flags, but use similarities to show connections…

Someone's sister decided to dump lava all over the lighthouse. Thankfully fire is off and we fixed it. What you see is Geno and my blocks to help control the fire, I thought we removed them all.

Kara, as long as the sign was placed after the server rebuild I'll be able to find out exactly who did it.
I did, I asked kara to put them out, the noise is frustrating
You can't fly blocks
you should have told that to NASA

Okay, I tried designing a flag. I used CFC red and CFC light grey and made a traditional, vertical seperation between two colors - Monaco style, although the seperation reminds me of Poland. (CFC meme, woot!)

Also, I took inspiration from the Sovjet Union, whose flag rocks, and crossed a pick and a shovel in the corner. I like my own design, although I'd like it cleaned up a little more - notably, the crossed tools. Can anyone do that? I like my own idea, although my Paint and GIMP skills aren't the best, so the execution isn't that great.

CFC red and CFC light grey is very important to use though. All in all, it symbolizes CFC, and Minecraft, which I think would suit our flag. :)

Each town could have its own imperial seal/flag/whatever as well. The "official" flag, though, has to be simple and charming.

I like that one. Gives me an idea on what to do for the glass for the senate

In more important news, I think I got the donate button working. If we hit $60 I'll upgrade the server for three months :)

I also request that you do not tell me how much you donated, or if you did at all, especially if it is large sums of money. I don't want any accusations of favoritism beyond what already exists ;)

That is a very good submission lj!

I wonder what % of the people use the default CFC colours? I've kept the red and gray but I have seen several instances of people not using it anymore. Otherwise great flag, instantly thought RuskyPoland.

I'm glad you like it. :) I think it's very fitting myself.
