Unofficial BTS 3.13 patch

The problem with implementing stuff like this is that because it's not "clearly" a bug, it's very unlikely to make it into any "official" patch(es) that may follow. So when the next patch gets released, all of these sorts of changes will be left out. Now, at that point, I suppose I could update and re-release, but at that point, I'd feel more like I'm making a mod. Not that I'm against the idea of making a mod, but I'm not sure the target audience is really there for that.

Am I wrong?

I'd be interested in such a mod if it were incorporated into the HOF mod, but it's probably better to wait until it is certain that there are no more patches or expansions forthcoming.
 
I haven't been around much recently, and there are far too many old posts for me to get completely up to speed. I've noticed that there are quite a few recent posts discussing various fixes, but the patch version is still v1.11. Can anyone tell me why, if all these fixes are available, there hasn't been a patch update for over 2 months?

Bhruic is still working on it. The major fixes are done... When he's ready no doubt he'll post the next version. It's great he's been able to do so much!
 
I recently played a game with Bhruic's thread, and when I discovered Computers, I couldn't build the Internet. I had all the prerequisite techologies, and the information was in the Civilopedia and the research tree, and I checked to see if any other civilization had built it already. None of them had, and yet I couldn't build the Internet.

My life could be worse I suppose, so I'll choose to live on for the time being.

Perhaps you could tell me if you've been able to do something about the AI spamming naval units? Surely everyone has seen this in their games e.g. the AI will have 20-30 galleys sitting around doing nothing. I've also seen something similar with regard to caravels.
 
Those Galleys and Caravels server a VERY important task: They are needed to pop a GG with Privateers... :p
 
when the savegame file is larger then 1MB the game crashes upon saving.. it obviously makes the end game not playable. Some ppl have reported similar problems, i havent found any answers in thuis thread.. please help

i noticed that a great merchant from a civ i have closed border is coming into my territory and coming into one of my cities. is this allowed? i never saw this in the official patch.

This has always been allowed with every version of Civ IV from the very start.
 
Not sure if this is addressed elsewhere, but while working on a mod for spy promotions I tracked down two bugs and thought the fixes might be good to add to this patch.

One has to do with the sabotage building mission being unavailable if the city does not possess a monument (or equivalent "cheapest" building in other mods).

The other has to do with the "Recent Mission" penalty being always applied even if the spy is alone and fortified.

I've included the SDK files I modified (using 1.11 of this patch), all my changes are marked with a TSHEEP tag.

Hmmm... sounds like an imminent release of the next patch from Firaxis?

Checking a magic 8-ball would be a more accurate release prediction than getting one from me.

No, the short answer is simply that I had a very busy pre+ holiday season, then promptly came down with a nasty flu right afterwords. I'm just now recovering.

One of my grandest moments in multiplayer treachery was spotting a great merchant approaching my border, upon which I declared war on its civ and killed it that very turn. :lol:

overlord2 is an Unfinished mod, a work still in progress. Report the problem in that thread as it has nothing to do with Bhruic's patch.

I'm sure overlords author would appreciate the information you have.

most of the mods are "unfinished".. since the authoirs are still working on them.

overlord includes the unoficial bhruic's patch, and the error i get points to cvgamecoredll.dll.. thats why i posted here..

im also curious how can you be so sure that the ctd i get has nothing to do with the patch ?
