Unrestricted Leader Awesome Combos!!!

Hello Folks,

Is there a spreadsheet/matrix somewhere, which shows all leaders, countries, and their combination?

Regards,

John

Tokogawa of the Ottomans... combat1 drill1 CG1 jannisaries. And better starting techs so he isn't struggling to keep up in tech in the early game. wheel and Agg are the two most expensive starting techs in the game

Thanks CivCorpse! And this is too too funny:

So please limits responses within this thread to constructive criticism as opposed to telling me I am an idiot, that is the exclusive domain of my girlfriend.

Oh man! You crack me up! :crazyeye:

I like Elizabeth of Rome. Praets to conquer, Financial to boost cottages to keep the economy from crashing, and the synergy of Philosophical and the Forum for lots of GPP.

forum on top of philosophical is marginal, seems like a waste of a civ. i don't think mounted get aggressive bonuses, so charismatic leader of mongolia would be best.

shaka's aggressive, so don't see much of a bonus. tokugawa of mali for the best skirmisher rush (maybe wang kon would be most balanced).

maybe survaryman of zulu/hre?

Roosevelt of Holy Rome. Get the religious wonders. Build Infinite cities, mostly on the coast... and watch your economy thrive as you keep settling every inch of the globe.

Darius of Holy Rome is brilliant. -75% maintenance plus lower civic upkeep is just a killer. Oh and he's financial on top of that so you can have a gigantic monster economy to do whatever you like.

Shameless bump, but I just tried Churchill of Mali. The combo I was looking for was protective/charismatic skirmishers. Result? Dead AI before 500 bc. Drill 2 out of the gates and those extra strikes skirmishers get, drill 3 one xp away. Could probably work with china too for a somewhat later war with pro/char CKNs. I just like rushing.

Zara Yaqob of HRE. Rathaus + ORG means a massive empire, settler spam and CRE to make the borders expand from the word go. I took over half a pangea map without a war on Prince doing that. :D I started near the center.

I played Lincoln of Egypt once, was quite fun.

Also Tokugawa of Ethiopia, spammmmmm with those Oromos!

And Churchill of Native America. Those archers are mean! CHA for the cheap promos, PRO for the free promos and the +3xp from totem poles to really boost them. You should have seen my armies when I upgraded the 40 archer spam to grenadiers :D Madness!

Right now I'm playing as Pericles of Arabia. CRE for fast Madrassa, then PHI for fast GP spam. Started on a flood plain river, 4 specialists from one building makes for a lot of GP points! Lightbulb philosophy with a scientist, academies, several settled scientists and prophets, constitution/representation sling from delaying liberalism until after nationalism [missed pyramids due to settler spamming and no stone] [while keeping a check to see none of my rivals had even got to paper, nevermind education].

Lincoln of the Aztec Empire:

-Charismatic syncs well with the sacrificial alters - making it even easier to whip whip whip whip whip!! I had MASSIVE armies earlier.

-getting hammers from slavery rather than production meant my big production cities had a ton of farms. This made it easy to transition to a specialist economy (lincoln is philosophical too) after the early game and an early successful war.

I named Lincoln "Henry Clay" and he kicked ass!

Only annoying thing about unrestricted leaders is that all the AI are mis-matched too - it can take a little digging in the civilopedia to figure out what their strengths/weaknesses are gonna be! I wish I could be unrestricted and the AI restricted still...

Augustus of Rome was my favorite under Warlords.

Praetorians to take cities.

Creative to pop borders quickly.

Organized to keep the upkeep from drowning your empire.

It's like he was custom built to be a warmonger's best friend. Who needs Agg or Cha when you have Praetorians?

Very interesting, this one really jumps out as being fun to try.

I wonder if in playing this fantastic combos anyone has been up against an equally formidable combination.

Oh ya - it was a LOT of fun to play! Something about being the "Slavery Society" just screams fun, I guess its the extra level of cruelty (evil cackling)...

Ended up mismanaging and developing quite a tech defecit towards the later years, but it was fun for a while!

Tonight: De Gaulle of the Holy Roman Empire! With the UB, it'll be like organized/char/industrious all rolled into one!!

Charismatic only let's you whip 1-2 more times to reach the same unhappiness level. The big advantage is that you can reach size 4-6 cities without hereditary rule, so you can go straight for sacrificial altars.

I'm addicted to Churchill of Native America... Oracle Feudalism or Machinery (or MC to be safe), conquer half the world with killer longbows/xbows, and the rest with upgraded Guerilla III Drill IV rifles.

This is one of my favorites.

I ran Elizabeth of Portugal on a Terra map to great success, though in hindsight Darius would've been a better choice as suggested. Dying to try Aztec Lincoln now.

Regarding playing unrestricted but keeping the other leaders the same: if you create a custom game you can assign your opponents' leader and civ specifically, though obviously you have to choose your opponents that way.

dj_anion's BTS Reference Sheet is a great resource.

So Churchill of Mali makes the Archer rush viable?

Sounds awesome rushing without any sort of Resource.

I'd say it's viable. Not sure about multiplayer but it worked against the AI on emperor. Those skirmishers are nasty buggers and with char/pro they hit drill 4 pretty fast. That's a lot of first strikes. They are also pretty darn cheap.
