Unrestricted Leader Awesome Combos!!!

Boudica of Aztec, I like her how she is, and I love Agg/Char with just about any Civ, but I also love sacrificial altars, so it was really fun to whip out a beefed up army in a short amount of time. Got one of my highest scores ever with that one.

My favourite unrestricted:

Frederick of HRE: Fast rathaus, pilo for tons of GP's accross a massive empire to set up an all conquering medieval war!

Brennus of Rome: Charasmatic for uber-praets or any other unit you like with spiritual for optimal civics at all times, with forums for more GP's, whats not to like.

Hammurabi of Sumer: super quick, super early courthouses, allows multiple vulture rushes, which all start with c1, set up a massive empire with no competition and take any victory you like!

Pericles of Arabia would be interesting. You get the cheap Madrassa along with the Philosophical bonus. This will allow you to ignore the religous techs for quite a while, while still allowing you to hire priests. Generate a prophet or two and settle them to help with maintenance as you REX. Once you've generated a few GPs, switch your madrassas to scientists.

I enjoyed several games as Alexander of Rome. Aggresive Praets are, of course, awsome. Add in the conbined benifits of being Philosophical and the Roman UB and I was pumping out specialists left and right. Really fun!

1. Darius of Holy Roman Empire. Research never seems to tank however fast I expand. :D

2. Boudica of Roman Empire. Prats are completely unstoppable.

Boudica of Aztec. Wood3/Med3 Jaguar in 20XP.

I have, it was a very fun game :D

Right now I'm playing as Pericles of Arabia. CRE for fast Madrassa, then PHI for fast GP spam. Started on a flood plain river, 4 specialists from one building makes for a lot of GP points! Lightbulb philosophy with a scientist, academies, several settled scientists and prophets, constitution/representation sling from delaying liberalism until after nationalism [missed pyramids due to settler spamming and no stone] [while keeping a check to see none of my rivals had even got to paper, nevermind education].

You really don't want prophets unless you are going for religions though as scientists are most of the time just better...

Tsk, there's nothing wrong with the regular combinations!

Augustus of Rome: The trait combination that best enables one to hog wonders without neglecting expansion. Additional GP from the Forum get even more mileage out of all that wonderspam, and Praetorians have a very very long shelf life.

Peter of Russia: Best traits if you wish to keep a SE past the Renaissance (health cap being the common limiter)... coupled with a UB that gives 2 free scientists? Sign me up.

Huayna Capac of Inca: The most reliable unit for a rush, followed by arguably the strongest builder trait combination if you know you can play from a position of strength (which you will, with the fruits from your early conquest).

I'd really like to justify Darius of Persia as another near-ideal war->peace combination, but to increase his economic edge I would prefer Sumeria (or the HRE for a more peaceful approach).

***

Now for the ones not normally available...

Joao of the Incas: I pity the neighbours. Who needs research when you can expand like mad, drown the world in Quechuas and take over the rest of the continent with culture should an opponent get a military resource up for whatever reason?

Mehmed of the Aztecs: Finally soemone ideal for a food economy without those pesky specialists. Whip until your fingers bleed.

Churchill or tokugawa of france.

Churchill of China seems like one I may try, but France is another good choice for old Winnie, makes drafting 2-move Musketeers a game-ending play. I really enjoy Churchill as a leader, the synergy of his traits is so strong. He can be played by a LOT of Civs and really unbalance the games.

Darius of HRE is just wrong, LOL. I cant decide which of these to try, never played with the UR trait.
