So we have a new games I got thread, a specials online one, a game of the year, a reviews thread, what's missing? Occasionally we get posts about new games coming out but I think it could use it's own thread to consolidate all that juicy info in one spot so us gamers can be more aware of what titles to wait for. Cus let's face it, not everyone consumes the same info and there's tons of titles out there now. I would never have heard of Reus except for a thread on here somewhere.

I'll start off by saying this game looks really intriguing. Mechwarrior Tactics.

I'm a little afraid because it's f2p, and it's also turn based while I loved mechwarrior 4 and mercs simulation, and the rts commander titles. I'm not sure turn based will have the same awesome flavor. But the dev interview says they wanted to return to the original board game idea and make it more like that. Anyone else interesting in this title?

Another big one is Planetary Annihilation. It's basically a kickstarter to bring back supreme commander 1/total annihilation gameplay and make it even more epic. It's on steam but they were charging quite a bit to get into alpha (basically a founder level kickstarter donation) so I have skipped it, but I'll be interested to play once it's out.

Ooo nice, that's another one we've been following on this forum a while.

VERY exited about Banished. Also Rimworld which smashed its kickstarter funding.

Another one I'm really looking forward to is Unclaimed World which I belive Rub Rum mentioned in the Banished thread. I'm more dubious of this one though as they were meant to have a demo out by now and they haven't updated info about the game in while. Fingers crossed.

Yeah, also looking forward for these two games grandad...

The beta for Starbound is going to start before the end of the year... In theory...

I've been waiting for this game for ages, to the point of getting really, really, really annoyed with its development...

Found a new might and magic game, X legacy. You can actually get early access to it on steam for $30. Anyone played it? I am only familiar with the homm series, never played m&m series, so I like the universe but dunno about the game play. The trailer shows the first person perspective and it looks really old school first person. So while the graphic updates are gorgeous I'm not sure I'll love the mechanics of it.

Yyyyyeah I haven't heard many good things about that one, sadly.

I think this is thread is a great idea! I've been keeping my eye on a few games on Steam that are currently alpha/beta/greenlit, and would love opinions about them:

Sir, You are being Hunted - a stealth and survival game (Hoping for a challenging AI)
Prison Architect - "dwarf fortress" in prison (really like the idea, kinda pricey $$)
Rim World - a "sci-fi dwarf fortress", looks promising
Spacebase DF-9 - another "dwarf fortress clone" in space with good looking graphics (not sure how much depth they can build into this concept though...)
Castle Story - watched some YouTube on this, looking good, if they can make it challenging
Castle Miner Z - a minecraft ripoff with scary monsters and guns (finally got Greenlit on Steam. Been out on the Xbox for a while)

And as others mentioned, Banished - What an awesome looking game ... I am amazed by this ONE guy development team!!

The number of "Dwarf Fortress"-esque games does my heart good. I've read a bit about Spaccebase DF-9, never heard of Rim World, but actually have played PA and it really is Dwarf Fortress in prison.

Which is fitting, since all the dwarves in DF were also psychopaths with a perchance for breaking beds.

Someone did a prison architect thread on here. It's in alpha I guess. Looked cool but like you said very pricey for what you get.

Don't know much about this, but it could be worth a look..

Isn't Banner Saga already on S-

Yes, it is. I played it. It was fun, but not my thing. Nice artwork though.

That's not the actual game, from what I understand, but only a mp factions part of it. If the sp part is good, I might give it a shot. Release date 14/1 2014.
I agree, the art work looks nice, which is a good part of why it looks interesting.

Looking forward to Age of Wonders 3! (as anyone who has seen the AoW3 thread knows) It is a fantasy TBS game that revives a great series that is now over 10 years old. The original games are still fun to play and are available on Steam and GOG. AoW3 will be released in Q1 2014 (no specific date yet).

I read your AAR  sounds like PA is pretty good. I read somewhere they've already sold 1M copies

I'm surprised they were able to at that price and isn't it still listed as in beta state?
