I heard it's possible to use spies to tap into other players' conversations/negotiations in MP games.

Is there any truth in that? <IMG SRC="http://forums.civfanatics.com/ubb/confused.gif" border=0> All MP games I played (around a dozen) ended before 1200 AD so I didn't get to use spies.

I have seen something like this on the spies options when you enter an enemy city....never tried it though.....hmm..well I'm in a good game right now with modern era units.....maybe i should try it

The spy has to be at capital, I believe.
Maybe not, but I think that's a true statement.
I've done it before and was at Cap, because that's the impression I was under.

I don't play multi (so sad, I just can't use the phone for hours at a time, wish i had DSL) but in the indtruction book, if you every flipped throught it, you can listen in on kings chat, but like slowhand said, you've gotta be at the capital.

Smash also said it only works in the capital city.
