The issue with ocean next to earth without coast came back when I had a global warming event.Yes, just coast and no ocean next to solid earth, the map looks just like it should.
Thank you so very, very much! You only missed 4 (and in some cases, you went even further than what I suggested!):
Great Mosque of Djenne (BUILDINGCLASS_DJENNE) should have the Islamic Mosque removed. Djenne is the religion-neutral one; Great Mosque of Desert (BUILDINGCLASS_DESERT) is the Islamic-specific one. I don't mind that one having an Islamic Mosque requirement.
Holy See Library should have the Apostolic Palace requirement removed. Again, I think it's bad gameplay to have one Wonder be dependent on another, especially when the second Wonder is religion-specific. The file is in the Project Hades\Custom_Religions\Std_BtS_Religions folder.
Pergamon Altar should have the Hellenic Pantheon requirement removed. Like Great Mosque of Djenne, I don't like this because it's trying to sneak a religion requirement onto a Wonder that didn't have one, and I don't want to upset the religion balance. This Wonder is also in the Project Hades\Platyping folder.
SETI Program: I don't think the SETI Program needs the Radio Telescope in the same city. I think the data can be gathered in one place (the city with the Radio Telescope) and transmitted elsewhere for analysis (the city with the SETI Program). This is what I changed:
Original code:
Code:<BuildingClassNeededs> <BuildingClassNeeded> <BuildingClassType>BUILDINGCLASS_RADIO_TELESCOPE</BuildingClassType> <bNeededInCity>1</bNeededInCity> </BuildingClassNeeded> </BuildingClassNeededs>
My preference:
Code:<PrereqBuildingClasses> <PrereqBuildingClass> <BuildingClassType>BUILDINGCLASS_RADIO_TELESCOPE</BuildingClassType> <iNumBuildingNeeded>1</iNumBuildingNeeded> </PrereqBuildingClass> </PrereqBuildingClasses>
Does that sound fair?
@Koshling:
Here's about a hundred or so turns of BBAI logging in the late Prehistoric Era. I think some of your recent AI changes may have over-compensated for AI militarization, as I only have about ten or so units and am seriously out-classing the AI. All of the AIs are also slightly smaller than me from what I can tell, so these logs may help you to figure out a way to help the AI during the Preh era. I apoligize for the BBAI log being 20 MBs! A save is also attached.
The unit counts do seem rather low, but also they are balanced to one another so if border tensions are low it may be fine. Who are you in his game, and what are the settings? One odd thing that struck me is that everyone seems to have at least one great general - any idea how?
I'm the Sumerians. Everyone has a GG because I play with Barb Generals, which gives great general points for killing barbs and animals. How many AIs have Master Hunters?
The following have Master Hunter (it's in the summaries at the end of each turn for every player in the log so it's very easy to check in the log what everyone has and how they are doing):
You
Tupi
Uzbeks
Assyrians
Mexicans
Carthaginians
Aztecs
English
Potugese
Jivaro
Goths
Greeks
Are they building an optimal number of Hunters? I think that I may be building more hunter units than the AI, and that's why I'm doing better. Can you tell anything about why the AIs are doing poorly?
I haven't had time to look at it in detail. The end turn player stats logging is extremely easy to read though - have you looked at it? (search for 'num cities' which is about 20 lines or so into the summary for each player, so a page up from there should take you to about the start of the dump for each player)
You guys are aware that the Ion Propulsion tech is in the Modern Era tech group yet is almost at the end of the tree, deep in the Galactic Era, yes?
Also, a few Transhuman techs still have broken names.
Is this V26 or the SVN? Because I could swear Vokarya fixed those issues a while back.
