v 26, and above ALL Bugs/Crashes reporting thread

I'll take a look at these later today. These are some of the kinds of issues I might've expected to see since I'm prone to mistakes ;)

These should be fixed in the SVN now.

SVN 3622, very minor graphic bug on the Pearson leaderhead: There is no small size icon so when viewed in the Civlopedia just the top of his head appears and no other leadersheads appear. Or is this a comment on Pearson, or Canadians, being too big-headed? ;)

The leader Yu has the same issue. Sejong has a medium-sized leaderhead. Mem de sa and Vargas have a missing leaderheads (just a pink square)

I am still trying to get my computer to work correctly, i even had to call the Geek Squad, and heck i knew more than they did,:( Just give me some time for these corrections thx.

v26p1

The AI seems to handle internal disorder in weird ways. I cannot physically see Egypt's nation but they have changed civics pretty much every single time they can. And I don't mean when new ones become available, I mean they change their civics every time the required turns have passed to allow them to change their civics again. For example, they expanded to 12 cities, then changed to Republic and expanded to 15- then for some unknown reason they self destructed by changing back to Monarchy(along with a multitude of other civics changes). They have swapped back and forth between Republic and Monarchy (among other civics) several times now in just the last few years, and it has caused so much disorder that five cities revolted and separated.

It really looks like the AI doesn't understand the new civics or simply is terrible at choosing them.

Still trying to get my PC running correctly, but i get this on the newest SVN?
Your BtS exe does not have write access to the Caveman2Cosmos subfolders.
Either start it as admin or change the access settings for those folders to full access for your normal user.

Can you turn BBAI logging on (level 3) in the BUG options, and after a session where Egypt does this post the resulting BBAI.log please (ideally with a save game of a turn in which they make such a switch on end turn)

ok.. turned that on, where does this file get generated?

only files in there are PythonErr2.log, init.log, xml.log, and resmgr.log

Do you have logging on in your INI file also? (sorry forgot that!):
Code:
; Enable the logging system
LoggingEnabled = 1

Now it is, let me save and reopen the game. Ok now there's a ton of files in there. including BBAI.log. Odd that the BUG 'enable logging' option doesn't really turn it on(I thought that's all I had to do)

Did i miss anything now??

Have you renamed the mod folder (from the download, after extracting) to Caveman2Cosmos instead of C2C_Release? They uploaded it with the wrong name by mistake. Also, make sure you apply the patch linked in the main thread.

Ok i did all that but it still keeps crashing when it starts to load. mostly at "int.XML (uncached.)"

Inside your mods/Caveman2Cosmos/Assets folder do you have a folder called 'cache'? If so delete it and see if that helps (there was a bug in the XML caching in V26 that caused crashes if the previous attempt failed part way through cache construction)

It still wont work i deletesd the cache folder but it still crashes at "int. xml (uncached)"
and the cache folder just comes back after i delete it.

It seems that Avoid Growth is not working in version 26. My cities continue to grow even though they are already unhealthy and I have both avoid growth options selected (health & happiness) in the city screen.

I seem to remember using them in version 25 without issue. Did I miss something?

Also, is there any downside to a unhealthy city other than wasted :food:?

Please post a save from the turn before such a city grows, and I'll take a look at why it's ignoring the setting.

Right now I don't think unhealthy has much effect (if any) apart from lowering net food. It **MIGHT** have a small impact on Rev instability (I'm not sure), and in future it **MIGHT** increase the amount of disease present in the city (@Hydro ??).

You have to be aware of Crime, Air and Water Pollution, and Disease now. These add :yuck: and unhappiness thru the hidden bldgs they unlock at different levels of each.

I don't think the City screen AI is updated (yet) to include these factors in the Avoid Growth, etc selections.
