v1.27f for PTW

:hmm: It's exactly the same filesize as the US version. And it's byte for byte identical too.

FYI, with Conquests we are using 1 form of copy protection for all versions and the plan is to have a US disc and International disc (includes all languages - selectable during installation). Thats the plan anyway.

Problems like these are annoyingly frustrating!!!

Unfortunately there is an EXTREMELY large amount of confusion regarding this issue and it is taking me some time to clear it up. I hope to have it resolved soon.

Thanks for your continued patience!

Jesse Smith, Firaxis Games

this sounds great:goodjob:

but which languages will be in the disc & how long is the delay between US & International disc?

Don't be too happy yet, heiminglee. ;) It seems when people talk about international versions they only mean the European versions (German, French, Italian, UK), not inlcuding Asian language versions (Korean, Japanese, Chinese).

Hmmm.... so what on earth is it doing on the UK divisions website? Sorry about the false alarm - I guess someone was trying to make things look rosy-red again...

Don't ask me why, but the US patch appears to work on my system. This is really weird, since I'm supposed to be having the UK version, and I installed it atop the UK 1.21f.

Using the EU exe Thunderfall provided gives me a "no CD" message, which for some reason is in French.

Edit: Spelling

actually i think that too, only EA (only Maxis but not simgolf:(, bf1942, c&c series but not renegade), blizzard's warcraft3 frozen throne can sell chinese version games as the same time as the english version.

Atari's chinese division only translates civ3 series as far as i see & chinese version delay much. But here in hongkong also can buy US english version civ3 & ptw:D. Since the time of transportation, they come with delay of few weeks.

At last! :yeah:

Presumably.

In a spirit of curiosity, I uninstalled the US patch and installed the one Lucky linked to. Again, I get an error message in French. Reinstalling the American patch, and it works again.

So apparently I'm having a UK PTW which only accepts the US patch. This howeve, only applies to the 1.27 - my 1.21 patch was UK. I guess I've got a Mid-Atlantic Ridge version ...

Anyone know where I can get a nocd exe? I checked all the game sites I know. My CD is hard-core jacked up and doesn't work.

Unfortunately, your post counts as pro-piracy, and you won't get an answer here. While you may in fact have a jacked up CD (Who am I to say you don't?) you won't get an answer here. The mod's will suggest you contact firaxis and get the official no-cd patch from them, if you indeed have a legitimate need for it. . .

I know where to get a no-CD crack :p: - personally, I hate CD checks - if you actually have, say, a Myth or Class rip of the game you wouldn't need the CD anyway so a CD check is simply an inconvenience that legit buyers of the game have to put up with (in most cases, obviously not all).

Software forcing people to leave CDs in the drive while playing only annoys legitimate buyers (who cant use music cds then!).

The 'naughty' people who go and download the games already probably have a no-cd thing built into it.

CD checks would make Long John Silver turn in his watery grave....

lol... Why is it Pro Piracy? Some people dont like having to fish CD's out of there collection. Some peoples CD's may be so badly over played it doesnt work (i know mine is getting that way) While others, might want to listen to better music while playing civ3....
