It seems that every CS I meet says "Protected by: You" even though I haven't pledged protection to any of them.

I noticed that on one CS but just assumed I was seeing things. This was 137.2 beta.

You don't have to pledge to "pledge"... but being pledged to all must be a bug.

Firaxis added this to vanilla about a year ago I think. They removed the "pledge to protect" button, and the AIs consider us "protecting" any citystates within a certain range. If you can confirm it does not depend on distance, and is actually all citystates, I'll remove the active player from the list.

In my case, I'm sure it was a nearby CS.
