i have no idea why this happens, but i have not been able to progress past this turn :(

after reading the ctd posts i have realized i am a bad person :P seems to work now that i have turned off stack attack in both normal options and BUG.

edit: crash again the round after, will try to update to latest SVN, sorry for starting the thread outside the official CTD threads :/

From what i am reading what you wrote, sounds like you have a 32 bit PC, if so pls use the 3GB switch option.

Also if using more than 10 civs on a large or bigger map make sure you are using "Viewports."

unfortunately no

i have Intel i7 3770
Geforce GTX680
20gb ram
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, formated 4 days ago and reinstalled all.

ill try using viewports, that should probably help.

Sounds like my old system i got rid of as soon as i got it, i personally dont like GeForce stuff

OK viewports, depending on your Era,

Ren Era - about 60X60
Indus - 50X50
then after that 40X40 should do the trick.

had alot more problems with my previous ATI system, and GeForce works better in all other games i play :)

thanks for the advice, ill have a crack at viewports.

This game is from v31 svn 5918.
It has:
26AI (that have cities) and 3 rebel factions(no cities displayed)
216 cities total (see screenshot)

Game did not ask for Re-calc when I loaded it up.

flabbert has not given Map size, or type, nor Gamespeed or difficulty level.

It does Ctd when you press red EoT button. I have provided Minidump.

@flabbert,
You might want to update to current SVN to see if you can then proceed. Also this info I added is needed if the AI guys like Koshling are going to see if they can fix the problem.

The crash is somewhere in the Python interpreter, most likely failing to allocate memory - does it work ok if played with viewports, or does it crash whatever you try?

i have tried with or without viewports, with both standard v32, and latest svn as of yesterday, to no avail, i will see if i can reproduce it now, at most i can manage to get one turn further before all goes sideways.

It is on a giant map, i have just taken over 2 cities the previous turn, i will see if i can get a minidump for you.

I did not try viewports. But number of AI + cities + giant map that is full may have pushed the memory over the edge.

i get crash to desktop even with viewports, i will see if i can try to do some isolation and come up with a real reason for why.

after updating to koshling's miracle svn, and removing my 2 2gb ram modules, the game seems to be running fine on the save i posted in the top, it may have been my individual system making a mess of things with having 2 2gb ram modules, and 2 8gb ram modules.

now it seems to work as a charm, but seems like i am finally able to play the game again :D

Were your 2GB modules the same Mhz as your 8GB modules? I suspect they were not.

they were, but they were also 3 years older than the newer modules, why i felt it was a good idea to add that 4gb of ram, noone knows :crazyeye:
