Do you know anything about the release date of the mod?
Was hoping it would be today but sadly an old bug just cropped back up and I'm looking into it. Additionally, there's a lot of xml work I still want to complete. So it's going to be a few more days at least unfortunately.

We'll make a loud and proud declaration of v37's release once it's ready. v36 is so out of date, you'd be better off getting the mod from the SVN (the first post on the SVN thread in this forum can show you how to go about getting it from there) which I would usually urge anyone to do anyhow since if you encounter a major bug and report it, to get the fix you'll have to get the SVN version anyhow usually.

The mod will be in ModDB server?

So I'm a total noob to installing and playing mods and was wondering exactly where and what to download to play C2C. As I understand, possibly incorrectly, I can just download the v36 crime patch, which is the last version of non svn C2C with a svn crime patch update? As I understand it, If I were to go this way this would not be the most updated version of C2C (and furthermore if I wanted to update it it would break any saves from the last version I'd update from), but it will be more straightforward on how to get this up and running versus going the svn rout, which allows more frequent updates to bugs and new features but seems quite convoluted as how to do right without messing something up from what I read on the svn thread? Is this an accurate understanding of the difference between the crime patch C2C mod dl versus going the svn route?

Thanks in advance

That's probably correct for the most part but I don't feel that SVN is all that tough to get setup. A few more steps perhaps but no one step is difficult and it can save a lot of time if you have any flickers in your internet connection since you don't have to download it all at once - it can pick up where it leaves off if its interrupted. Whereas normal download sources cannot, which is why I don't know much about those myself because it's too large for my connection to take in before I get a connection flicker so it would take me days to try to get the full version download without the SVN.

I have a very fast Internet connection so that shouldn't be a problem. Would you say that the crime patch C2C is pretty stable so I could just download that and be ok until V 37 comes out?

Also would the SVN version be far more updated and if you can update it as things come out without breaking saves does that mean that if I had SVN version then when you guys put up v37 I can update it through the SVN without breaking saves?

Yes to both questions. We make it very clear when an SVN revision would break saves to update to it. And we've been trying to keep those kinds of updates to an absolute minimum. If you ever get a bug and report it and it gets fixed, generally you need the SVN to get the fix.

Ok so I got the SVN version up and running and all I have to say is oh my. I love civilization and I am very thorough and love immersion but this is the most overwhelming thing I've ever encountered in my life. Where do you even begin on how to learn about the immense content in the game, it would literally take a year to go through the list of stuff in here reading about everything, surely there has to be a more fission way? Are there even any strategy guides specific to C2C on how to even approach such an immense game, things specific to if you're a warmonger what paths to go down in the tech tree what troops and units are relevant etc.? Great job but wow!

I'm right now embarking on the mission to write our a player's guide for v37 and I'm hoping to include some instructional videos. Will it give you all the little ins and outs of how to best approach the tech tree? Naw. But it'll give you all the 'beyond Civ IV' details important to keep in mind as you play. Hopefully I'll have that done within a day or two. But that COULD be wishful thinking.

If I may make a suggestion, one thing I think that would do wonders for learning this game quicker than the immensely slow process that it will take, is if you guys added a search function to Civilipedia. Honestly more than half the time goes into me trying to figure out where exactly to even look for something like "animal story" or "myth something," so that I could even get to the point of trying to strategize on what path to take through the tech tree.

Cool idea but way beyond my skills. I suppose DH might be able to but I think it might even be a tall order there.

I am so bad at the SVN thing. I read the "how to install" and I am still lost :P o well. I will wait till V37. I am ok with the crime patch New Pre v37 SVN 9352 Full Mod "Patch". That is fine by me just now ^^ if only JII would update it haha

The new V37 will be compatible with submods of V36 how subdued animals or more civs?
I don't think there's anything that would disrupt any modmods here.

Last answer, how much will weigh V37?
Size? I THINK it's improved from v36 but probably a little heavier from the latest crime patch. Not much difference really. Some ram memory leaks have been fixed so that's a big deal for the long game.
