Hmm, I don't know though. It's definitely easier to come up with a diet including eggs, milk and meat. If you're trying to maintain an already high level of muscle mass, it becomes much harder if you drop things like eggs and meat/fish/chicken. I seriously doubt Vegans could get as big, ultimately. Maybe a few could, but it would be harder for most in general. I'm not saying it's impossible, because there are some who do it. But they are rare.

Anyway it all depends on what your goals are in any case ;)
Probably would be a little harder simply because there aren't as many vegetarian sources of concentrated calories. My goal is just to get lean and cut so it works for me. :)

Also, I think they are rare more because so few people right now are going down that path right now. I think that right now less than 1% of the US is vegan (3-5% vegetarian AFAIK) so it would make sense that most bodybuilders also fit it with those trends. Over time I feel it will change, already I think things are starting to change.

Now stop asking me about Budhism, I really don't know that much, only enough to know that I would make a bad Budhist as I am now :D
Ok. :)

my fiance has been vegetarian for 3 years, and i've always sympathized with the vegetarian cause. 5 days ago i decided to make a half-assed attempt to stop eating meat, and haven't in the last 5 days. which is a big deal because before it was hard to me to go 1 meal without eating meat.

anyone else here vegetarian, how long? experiances? tips and or advice? another problem of mine is that there isn't alot of vegetables i like.
I am a vegetarian. Was raised so, though I was fed fish when younger intill I gave that up at about 7/8.

Advice - Vary your meals more, try new things and experiment!

What sort of meals are you eating at the moment?

I often think vegetarian meals are sterotyped, so maybe you don't really know your options.

So... ComradeDavo, give us some menues of yours, to see the variety of your meals
Hmm, okies. This week I haven't been very varied...pizza and pasta twice!

Sunday I was Bristol to see a band so grabbed a quick bite in a pub, was Jacket Potato with Coleslaw
Monday I had Pizza with added vegtables and chips.
Tuesday I had Pasta with Onion, Mushroom, Tomatoes and some garlic bread.
Wednesday I had pizza again with as many vegetables as I could cram onto it, with chips.
Thursday (yesterday) I was in a rush so had mushroom filled pasta with a sauce
Today I had a Thai curry with rice.

For lunch on those days it's varied between sandwhichs or soup. There are quite alot of different varieties for those 2, so changes alot, especially the soup which is easy to cook and comes in a can!

Other meals I have reguarly are Jacket Potatoes with chilli or beans or with mushrooms n sweetcorn and salad, chinese food (spring rolls, stir fry etc), various roast vegetables with nutroast or some sort of vegetables pie etc, Indian food (there are many veggie Indian options:)), fried food (I probably have this a bit too much heh, tend to have fried egg, tomatoes, mushrooms, soemntimes with vege sausages)

Thats all i can think of for now. There are of course stuff I have now and then, there are alot of thjings you can do without meat or fish:)
