Battle Plans:
Hakara tries to contact the closest thing existing to a New Magi centeralised command, or New Magi in the area, and tells them the relevant information. He argues that something needs to be done to stop Old Magi control of Alvalon.
During the battle, if Hakara sees what he thinks is an opportunity to switch sides, he will take it IF his own side is losing, AND he thinks the risk of death is small.
I will recommend Takar fight personally with the men, so he can say he is risking his own life as much as theirs. Also, wherever he is on the battlefield he will probably raise morale.
At first, Hakara will try to counter any enemy divinations. This will mean his plan is not affected. Throughout the battle, his goal will be to counter any enemy magic with his own to try and equal things (focusing on, say, forces who teleport inside the walls, or fixing parts of a flank attacked by enemies).
If Takar dies in battle, Hakara will rally the men with the idea of "Avenge Takar!".
The rest depends on whether the battle is at the fort or on the plains (the fort is preferable, but not if it means we fight exhausted and they don't). Will do two seperate plans.
Fort:
(NOTE: The enemy may settle in for a siege of the fort rather then a direct assault. If so, Hakara will argue for letting them)
(NOTE 2: Takar is in command. The strategies are Hakara's recommendations)
Then, he will recommend focusing on the upper floors, and having the space closest to the enemy be taken up by professional archers. They will fire on the enemy, being given more ammunition as they do (by the infantry if they don't think it demeaning or anything, by other archers if they do). If the enemy launch siege towers or ladders, the archers will fall back and infantry will fight them.
The enemy probably will either teleport into the fortress or smash a hole in it (if not both). Takar's best men (led by him) will counter such a move, with Hakara also focusing his personal efforts on it. This will be done by Hakara (at the expense of unconciousness if necessary) tapping the needed Fiezar to teleport them into the midst of the attackers, hopefully getting them by suprise.
To counter any Avalonian knight charge, Hakara recommends pikes if they have to be fought with infantry, but ideally attacking them from the walls. As for muskets, he considers them a fear-based weapon and acts accordingly.
Plains:
The enemy's primary advantages are their magic and the Avalonian knights. Their magic is by far the greater problem.
Hakara will wait with a reserve division of Takar's best men to counter any teleportation into the lines or other dangerous posistions. He will do a counterattack in such manner when appropriate. Meanwhile, he will counter enemy magic as he can without losing the chance to do it.
Against an Avalonian knight charge, the forces should use pikes (or swords/spears used like pikes) to bring fear into the enemy horses. Against magic, they should spread out as much as they can (forces who are able and realise other forces are spreading out should assume they are trying to counter a magic attack and act accordingly).
We will try to make use of our greater archer firepower as well- this should make victory more likely.
