VertNes-Worlds of Altor.

A solitary figure sat beside a fire, only a single flagon of wine to keep him company. From the amount of liquid in the container, it had likely kept him company for most of the night. One leg was stretched out, bandaged heavily. An accident most likely. It could, of course, been caused by the dragon, but then if that happened he would be having more than a leg bandaged. No, it was more likely that he was already injured when the dragon came, thus explaining his solitary survival.

“Excuse me for intruding. Allow me to introduce myself. I am…well, you may call me Oni. I am the one you rangers requested from the capital to solve your problem.”

The ranger didn’t move, not even a slightest twitch to betray the fact that he heard me. He just kept starring into the fire. I understood, after all, losing all your friends in a single day, with you unable to assist in any way, it would hit any man hard.

Pulling out my beads, I sat on the floor. I was not so crass as to demand him to immediately cease his mourning. I had revealed who I was, he would acknowledge me when he wished. Taking off my hat, I began to murmur quietly “May the souls of the departed find rest. Receive them, O Untor into your loving embrace...”

"Alright guys, here's my plan, me and Aiken should try to attack the wolf from both sides, and you Thomas, stay back near the fire and try to help us with your magic. I don't want you hurt, or killed."

Then I draw my bow and prepare to nock an arrow, aiming for the wolf's head, hoping to kill it in one shot before it gets close enough for us to take it in hand-tohand combat.

Halt posting please so I can sort out the fight and do the update. Thanks, this does not apply to the OOC thread.

Update is up and all modding for now is done so post away again! Sorry Abby but that wolf was strong!

I enter the town with the sea elves, searching the pub, the marketplace or another public place for information about the man in the cave. Attemp to hide the colour of my skin if possible (With capes, shadows etc), as people would probably dislike me because of it. Ask as many sea elves as possible. Learn specifically whether he is aggressive or not.

That's not what i had said i would do!

I said i would Take a pebble and teleport it into it's head... can't dodge that, can it?

Thomas see OOC thread for the answer.

Lord_joakim

You walk into a tavern and find it almost deserted there is an elf behind the bar and two sit in the shadows. An elf suddenly appears behind you "I see you have taken up refuse with Grey. Don't worry he maybe a bit mad but otherwise he is harmless. Be careful though his spells can get a bit out of control in fact one such out of control experiment is what cost him his sanity. Here have some food and drink on me friend from across the sea and drop your disguise you have no need for it here. Now tell me about your people I am curious to find out how you managed to cross the Great Sea and live?"

OOC: Time to be Crazy Again.:crazyeye::mischief::crazyeye:

IC: I will rush over to Aiken drawing my short sword and grabbing my hand axe, holding one weapon in each hand, and will be ready to assault the wolf with full fury as soon as it moves. (Or if it's moving towards Aiken already, I'll assault it as it is moving, in the same way.)

@ Charles Li So you agree to search? Off-line rules now as I need sleep. Moose I will sort you out in the morning.

At the man’s voice, I stood. I was not surprised by the nature of the mission, after all, I would not have been summoned otherwise. Still, you always wish the client would have more details. No matter, the clients who got more details usually ended up dying before they could become clients. Such was the way the business worked.

“I thank you for your generosity. I will see if there is anything you have that might be of help for the mission in your storehouse. I will be back to report on my success, we can talk about payment then. Or, I will not come back at all, then you won’t have to worry about the payment. In that case, send word to the capital, they will keep sending people until either your problem is solved, or we are all dead.”

I left the room. It wasn’t the most cheerful of goodbyes I left with, but as Master Wa said, “Death takes the most interest in those who ignore him.”

OOC: In the storehouse I will search for 1) a hunter’s knife; 2) a map of region; 3) oil; 4) spade; 5) anything that catches my eye as unusual or unique. If I don’t find 3 or 4, make a quick trip back into town and buy them. Then head into the forest to find these “elves” that were mentioned as possibly helping.

Straegos

In the store room you find a hunter's knife and a map of the area quite quickly. You continue to search and find a spade and right at the very back a strange stone. Strange because you sense magic coming from it and demon actitity near it. Alas no oil but you soon get back to town and buy a 20l flask for 40 Sari. As you pass by again to enter the forest and the man appears. " Wait. Before you go in there I've got something to till you. A couple of elves muttered something about a rip and the New Ones when I last spoke to them. Also be careful for Untor's Sake I don't want your death playing on my mind as well as my friends."

Your sword intercepts the wolf just as it jumped at Aiken again. You cut off one of its toes and force it to the ground. Then your axe follows but the wolf moved, it did not move much but it was enougn, your momentum meant you could not change the direction of your attack. All your axe does to the wolf is give it a bit of a hair cut.

Charles Li

You detect a faint, eradic blip about 10 miles from the town. Almost as if a something was hiding its presense. You just had just marked it on your map before it disappeared from sight.

Once clear from town, I pulled out the hunting knife. What I was about to do might be dangerous, and I had no desire to put anyone in more danger if I could avoid it. Clearing leaves from the ground, I pushed the knife into the yielding ground, using it to draw two triangles, overlapping, but pointed in opposite directions. Around the triangles I drew a circle, so that the edges of the triangles touched the circle.

This done, I fished out the stone which I had taken from the store room at the hunting lodge. Normally, I didn’t worry about every demonic activity I came across, an activity about as useful as chasing my own shadow. Now, however, I was on a mission. Now it could be coincidence that I had detected demonic activity at the very place I had received my mission. It could conceivably have nothing to do with the mission I had accepted. But as Master Yi said, “Coincidences are like a butterfly’s dream.” Now like most of the great masters’ sayings, I hadn’t reached the state of enlightenment to know what it meant, but I am sure it applies to this situation. Otherwise, me thinking about that exact statement would have just been a coincidence, and as Master Yi said, “Coincidences are like a butterfly’s dream.”

Placing the stone in the circle, I took out the ankh from my belt. The ankh began emitting a pale green light. Placing it over my lips, I began to chant.

All seeing eye of Untor
Who grasps the truth of all things
Enlighten me with wisdom
And reveal the inner truth.

Out of habit, the hand not holding the ankh began fondling my meditation beads. It might take a while to understand the rock before me, but as Master Kamar said, “Truth enlightens, Truth conceals. Truth is aides, Truth hinders. But until you know it, Truth does nothing.”

I know other magic peoples are in this town. He thought. But someone trying to shade his magic is either evil or doing experiments... I shall go there.

Starts stalking into the forest.

I pull away my disguise and attempts to remain calm. I look in the eyes of the elf, telling him that I do not know the origins of my race, only the name of it. If he asks about the name, I will tell him Ziggler. If he doesn't, I will keep it for myself - I have a shy nature. I then tell him about my childhood with as little detail as possible, I do not want to tell about the abuse by my mother. I simply say that she is died of disease. And I tell him that I was born on the boat heading to this world - my mother has told me that. I ask him about general questions as well, what his name is, where he comes from, what he works as.

Strategos

You suceed in identifing the object. It is a small piece of a portal stone but sadly your magic fails to track the portal down and begins to crumble in your hands for the name and power of Untor, even when invoked acidently, are powerful weapons and wards against demons.

Lord_Joakim

You find out the elf's name is Talor Windbreeze (last name is a translation) and he is a Sea Elf from this village and is a skilled, and wealthy, craftsman. He asks about your race and its abilities and you tell him its name but nothing else. He also asks about your past, your homeland and the ships of your people. You tell him in brief about your past but ommit anything about magic and most of the things about your mother.

Thomas.berubeg

You suceed in summoning a small elemental but it does drain you. You thing you can manage one more summon on that scale and come to no harm. You see Aiken collapse in front of you.

I summon a second Elemental, Air this time... the two should compelment each other (blowing on a fire makes it stronger, while heat makes air move faster and harder...)

set them to attack the wolf!

I see Aiken collapse and I rush in front of him and confront the wolf with both my weapons, aiming to crack its skull open with my hand axe, and trying to block its teeth and claws by using my short sword to parry. (Hand axe = Right hand, Short Sword = Left Hand)
