That small patch? Its the corner of my own private island, just behind the tennis courts, which lies between the airfield and my mansion (argh damn, you made me daydream again

Nah, its a forest close to the neighborhood where I grew up. My wife, son and I took a bicykle trip down memory lane. Its funny how things that seemed so big when a kid, is actually really small when grown up. Except the forest, which seems to grow, especially vertical

hey Vinz, know your busy, but a couple of things;
1) What's your thought on giving spys the Sentry prom? Yes, I know they can see hidden, but when placed in one of your own cities as a counter-spy, your only option is to sleep, which really doesn't do anything, and effectively nullifies the "see hidden" promo. It would be kind of helpful if you could see enemy spies (if had the right promo) and be able to do something about it. Not to mention the AI's could probably benefit as well.
2) Possible Bug; Ok, I founded Judaism and built the Holy building (using a GP). According to the little info msg, It's supposed to be able to spread the religion throughout my empire. But after 100 turns later, it didn't spread. I finally had to send missionaries to my cities in order to spread. Just was wondering if that's intentional, or if the spreading of religion is amped way down.

a) to spy (discovering new lands/lands where scouts/explorers cannot go due to war or warlords)
b) espionage (steal techs/ wreak havoc)
c) counter espionage.
for (a) its really effective to have extra viz.

a) If it's not possible to spot spies, then why have the spies be able to get the "see hidden" promo? Seems it would be optimal for them to be able for counter-espionage ops against incoming spies. Hmnn, I kind of like the whole spy vs spy thing, I'll see if anyone has any ideas in some other threads. My thxs.
Reli; ok, I thought that was the case (along with the no 1 gold per thing as well). It was my 1st time using Judaism, and the req's for building temples/mon's were a bit of a pain :. Think I'll stick with my Buddha Boys and Holy Joes for now. Especially since this is my 4th try at your Domi challenge, and I've finally managed to get a huge jump start on my continent using crusades promo (last 3 attempts were brutal).

Our brave little explorer check's out the grassland forest ^^ Don't forget to teach him to play civ when he gets older hehe @ Drak n' Vince : I've found Judaism a bit odd myself (I play 0.92 though) and in Judaism (unlike other religions) I needed to build the temple first before I could build a monastery. (in other words: requirements for judaist monastery are 1/1 temple while in other religions You can build monasteries straight away

Yeah, hence my gripe about them being a PITA .
I did notice (since this is my 4th flippin' try at Domi) that once you have an understanding of how things work, GP's Wonders, and beelining certain techs are key. I normally don't build certain wonders, but now I'm paying closer attention to the fine print... Ala Spiral Minaret being a biggy, amongst others.

I've just downloaded v.92 on my computer, which has Windows 8 (it came with it and I hate it). Whenever I click the icon to play it (shortcut, form the load a mod screen, or from a folder or file), the screen to play it doesn't open. I type in the command or click the icon, and nothing happens.

Read your PM before I saw this. I need to know where you installed the mod in order to help you, as windows 8 can sometimes frell with things. Additionally, you may need to adjust your UAC in order to allow it to run.
and if the loader doesn't work you can make your own shortcut, just copy the shortcut that opens BtS, right click-->properties, then add
after where it says "CivIVBeyondtheSword.exe" (the space before 'mod' is important)
It won't give you the loader of course but it'll load the game with the mod.

I've installed the VIP mod into Computer/OS(C
/ProgramFiles(x86)/2KGames/FiraxisGames/SidMeier'sCivilization4Complete/BeyondTheSword/ModsI've also configured the settings so that it opens to VIP automatcally, but now I can't play BTS or CIV. I click that icon and nothing happens. I'm reinstalling it as I type this.
Edit: I rightclicked and hit open on my BTS shortcut on my toolbar, so now I have that opened. One problem solved.
Edit2: Reinstalling does not work.

WIN8 can be a PITA at times. Just go into your UAC settings and hit the little check box for civ, and you should be good to go.

Could you go into more detail on where that is? When I go into UAC Settings, this is all I get.
Edit: All the 'Ok' button does is save the changes to that scale thing.
