That link... wow... I never uploaded to that site. They just stole it from moddb.com, and even though I deleted that version ages ago, they still have it...

Latest is 99G atm. usually I upload at sundays, but since I have a couple of exams next week (CCNA and networks), I'll be studying this weekend. I'll see if I can make it tomorrow.

Regarding the font. I thought it was looking in the fonts folder, but apparently it needs to be installed in the Windows font directory. Its a system font in windows 7, so I guess you either have XP or Win 10.
Maybe I can make the installer install the font, though tbh its a bit intrusive imho, so I'd rather put a note in the Pedia and/or make it install-able from the VIPLOADER.

For now, if you want to try it, it is located in ...\Beyond the Sword\Mods\VIP\Resource\Fonts\nyala.ttf

Just double click it, and it will ask if you want to install it.

Edit:
VIPLOADER have it as an option now to install the font (still have to be accepted by an administrator by clicking install in top left corner of the pop-up font window).

Also updated the color schemes with the new font sizes and Nyala font.

Thanks for the reply bro. Actually, I do have WIN 10 ( had to upgrade because of kids school reqs), and after doing a bit of reading, I found out that was the issue.

As for the loader, I simply created a shortcut for your config file, and ran a new game that way. Ironically, the test game that I was running when I gave you observations in my previous post, CTD'd as soon as I teched naval guns ( I think that was it). That's the first time ever I have had an issue with your mod. Again, I think it had to do with my having WIN 10, and the initial settings I started with. I'll keep you posted on this game if I have any problems.

My thanks on clearing up a few "DOH" moments for me btw, really appreciate it.

Was it on Colossal map size? and if so, how many gigs of ram do you have? Was it a repeatable CTD or just a one-timer?
If it was on colossal map and didnt crash after reload, I think it might be because the colossal map size pushes the limit a bit so to speak. I had a crash when I'm switching back to civ after using heavy memory apps in windows.

Yeah, colossal map, max civs. Ram isn't the issue ( have plenty), or even processor ( can play C2C with no issues). Reload was fine, and wasn't repeatable, so I'm thinking it was simply the initial set glitch on the new update.
I'll let you know how this game fares as I plod along with it, as I used your config settings to start it this time..... Oohh.. Just noticed you have 1.1 out... I'll wait a bit until I finish this game, as it's turning out to be a nail biter :wow:
 
thank you for uploading new version :) Movies now plays just fine for me :)

in 0.99G choosing 'transparent menus' in the loader, gives me too big fonts (yeah, still have old 1024x768 monitor), but later I found that 'solid menus' give me old BTS font! (IIRC).

Now in 1.1 fonts are big again even with solid settings :( its a way to scale font down in file or whatever ? or better: please add a normal BTS font as optional choose in the vip loader :p :) hope its possible... now fonts are really too big for me :) have a nice day/night
 
Minor confusion;

Does the medic line no longer work? I have a small stack in neutral territory with a medic. But none of the units will heal past 3/4's hp. Does your new heal rules nullify the medic promo? or are medics no longer relevant?

Going to be hard to sustain a long distance war if you can't have a medic in your stack. Am I missing some useful info somewhere? ( lol, which is entirely possible).

1.1 is savegame compatible, so it shouldnt be a problem to install latest.

I'll see if I can create an external program to edit the file (color and font are in same file, so with each color x transp/solid x font size = a LOT of files.)
If you still have 0.99 you can use the file from there (Just copy the entire VIP/Resource folder should do it). Cant remember the name of the excact file, but will post it sunday afternoon.

Yup, long range wars and naval invasions require much planning. I launched an attack on the chinese after they declared on me. Had 6-7 steamers with 5-6 cargospace each filled up. Landed. Got hammered in first turn. Decided to retreat. Back on the boats and retreat to nearest friendly heal. Gonna bring 10 steamers next time ;)
I lowered the healing promo to I 5%, II 5% and III 10%, which is why a neutral (50%) only becomes 75% (5x5 + 50) in neutral.
 
Hmnn. Well, that changes tactics a bit, especially if your only fighting defensive wars. Basically, you need to capture or build a city if you want full health..

Heh :mischief:, I don't suppose you'd allow a worker unit to build a M.A.S.H while in neutral territory?

Good to know on save compatible, I'll do that tonight when I get home from work.
 
Ermm, well, I guess friendly cities is a matter of semantics since I kind of like to own my continent.... After all, it's mine :smug:. Lol, actually, that's a good way to practice diplo skills. Nice.

Ummnn ( :shifty:), I still like the idea of a M.A.S.H.

You can edit the size of the fonts in
...\Civilization IV\Beyond the Sword\Mods\VIP\Resource\Themes\Civ4\Civ4Theme_Common.thm

its almost at the bottom :

The numbers are the size. Instead of starting with 16, you could try 12 and then move stepwise up from there.

If you have a spy in a foreign city, then you should be able to see what it produces in the citybar.

If you double click the citybar, that will take you inside the foreign city, where you can see what the research (the top bar inside the city)

thank you vincentz for font tips :) I reduced these numbers by 4 and now font sizes are ideal :) thank you.
I missing something about map sharing ? its now 1750 year and still can't see map share in diplo window :(
 
Doh! forgot about the double click on the city bar.. My bad bro.

So, once you tech satellites the world map won't be revealed? :eek::cry::nono::hmm::dubious:
 
I'm gonna make a new gamecoredll for 1.1 as the bombard and rangestrike cost too many movepoints imho (especially for ships). Also wanna add random damage to air units.
Anything else acting weird/funny?

I like how mod is playable now :) Im curious what I can see when I'm go to modern era (now its ~1790)

AI is really improved that normal BTS, first time I see that CPU most-friendly to me (90 percent of good relations) started a war even if I have stronger army (he attacked my weakest cities by two large stacks :)

Hmmm question:
there is a limit to units in one tile (25) and I'm like that change very much!, hovewer spies are invisible so why they count to this limit?
Also its strange a little that you need to move one unit temporary, just to put a missionary or great people to city to do its task, this limit should only be true for military units, not civilians (settlers, workers) or other units like spies, great peoples, missionaries etc..
