I use ESET (NOD32) and once an while while on this site I get a warning that I just blocked a virus or something from the banner adds at the top and upper right side of the site. I am not sure how much control you have over those but I thought I should at least warn you about it.

In addition I sometimes get a message saying the website is trying to run a script. I am guessing that must also be related. Note I use Firefox for my web browser. I would hate for other people on this site to be getting hidden viruses and don't even know it because their virus protection software is not catching it.

Also, using an Adblocker for Firefox will help a lot, both in blocking these sorts of malicious code and in also allowing you to not have to see ads. ;)

Ok it happened again today while making a post in this topic.

I tried to take a screenshot but it did not work. So I pressed it again after the message disappeared and this is what was on my screen. Note that the blocked message just said a bunch of gibberish. Like a long set of numbers and letters. And since it was blocked its not in the records of my virus protection software. It seems to only have a log if something is quarantined, which this did not even get that far.

I will let you know if I see it again. Note that the banner ad above was empty when it was trying to attack. If that helps.

This has happened to me before as well. I've had ads here on CFC DL viruses onto my computer. They probably come from unscrupulous companies that pay for their ads to be put on whatever agency CFC has chosen to run ads on the site. This is a problem that needs to be addressed. If I were the staff at CFC I would find another company to host ads placed on my site. It appears the ad company currently being used isn't careful enough about what ads they include on their roster.
