I play 2. Nc3 against Alkeline's Defense and am always delighted to see 2. ... e5 (I then play 3. f4). Probably you've played this line many a time before. 1. e4 e5 2. Nc3 Nc6 I'm less crazy about for white (and so have almost always played 2. Nf6).
I know 2. Nc3 is a lazy way of dealing with Alky's defense (rather than learning the opening) but it seems to get me out of the book early & the best man will win. Black rarely seems to play 2. ... e5 but when he does it's nice.
