VoxPopuli Modpacks (Update: 4.16.1)

We just ran the 4.9.1 on LAN 2 humans 6 AI Standard Map Standard Speed. There were a few reloads, of course forced syncs, but we got all the way until Siam (of course) dinged the Industrial Era. Taking a break now, but so far it's been great. Oh, and we used the EUI as well along with 3/4 UC (the third link). Communitas Map (inserted as noted above for both players).

I can't speak for Industrial era forward yet, but the rest has been a lot of fun.
Unfortunately the industrial era is when it all goes to hell :). I have yet to play multiplayer past the industrial era.
I love playing with EUI. But if removing it means I can get to the modern era i'd be willing to forgo it.

I agree with you there -- do you think the new sync fixes have changed this? I don't know if that's been tested by others yet.

I see the 4.6.2_ssemsu-noeui is stated as the recommended multiplayer modpack. Is this still the case? Or should I try the 4.9.1 version?
4.6.2 is the most tested, but 4.9.1 should be better but there is a nasty hospital bug that gives tone of foods. This is fixed on 4.10. I am actually sick but I hope to provide the modpack this weekend.

Some of the desyncs in Industrial were caused by the bug that has been fixed in 4.9.1, so it should be more stable now.

Amazing. Out of curiosity what was causing the desync?
Also feel better soon buddie. And not just because im too lazy to make my own modpack... :)

Something went wrong when updating cities after new resources were revealed within their borders. The first desyncs happened around turn 80 and 10, corresponding to the reveal of iron and one of the early resources, respectively. Those early-game desyncs were quite harmless. Later it happened again when revealing coal, and this time it affected many cities and caused a lot of follow-up desyncs (city yields, happiness, etc).

I will provide news modpack when the next hotfix version will be out (some CTDs are fixed but the version is not out yet). Likely is will be 4.10.1 :)

If you have the logs and the saves for each player do not hesitate to post your issues on GitHub, it helps greatly the Devs to fix them. It can make the multiplayer experience better for everyone.

hey you said we should not use the mod menu anymore, does that mean we cannot add any mods to the game not in this modpack?

Hi Agiwan! I want to first extend my heartfelt thanks on all your work with the modpacks. I have failed for the past four years to have any sort of modpack that can be played on multiplayer without games ending prematurely or being bugged. A big thank you to your gracious work. What is the current most stable version with 3rd and 4th unique components that can be used with EUI?

The last one should be the best :)

Has anyone been able to get Really Advanced Setup working properly in a modpack, even just for SP? The menu is there but none of the sections are populated, and the buttons are not functional. It is not really that big of a deal, I am just curious if anyone has it working.

In any case thanks for all the work put into this and the simple instructions.

Just finished a game with my roommate on 4.6.2 and it went pretty smoothly. just finished my spaceship labs but was unable to stop him from completing a CV (since we house ruled earlier to not war each other) We had some desynchs, force resynches needed to reenable buying of cargo ships/caravans, and a couple CTD where we cleared caches and hopped back in no issue, so overall was a good game!

What would be the best version to run a multiplayer game on? I've tried 4.6.2 and 4.11 but both games crash at around 100-200 turns

Thank you :crazyeye:

Can I ask you what kind of situation causes the crash for you guys? We're experiencing game-breaking, reproducible crashes for both host and non-host in 4.9.1 and 4.11 after capturing an enemy city in the late game. This wasn't occuring in 4.6 so I'm assuming the bug was introduced with the recent versions.
