Err... I think its too early to be pushing the :culture: slider right now. We still need to research that Assem Line for adequate defense ... plus we still do not have most of the cathedrals in place, so its a waste of :commerce: to go 80% :culture: now.

Good job completing the bud spread. Now we need the Judaism spread ... but nobody is building the Jewish Missionary ... :crazyeye: ...

EDIT: ah, I know why, becuase of the switch to free religion, we need monastry to build jewish missionary ... fine, in anycase, we still have the other religion's cathedral building to construct. So plan is to build Bud/Hin/Con temples/cathedrals while those cities with Judaism build the Monastry and Missionary.

Anyone have any idea why the save file is so large? Never had one so large I couldn't upload it!

And man Antium has som amazing culture coming out of it. Did Vicky drop a culture bomb there or something?

Yes, that's right. In fact, IMHO, no point in researching SciMeth at all if AssemLine is our last tech.

I agree. We need to keep researching to get Assembly line (So we can at least have infantry for defense!!) I think Vicky is bound to attack us again before the end... and I don't want to get caught try to guard against tanks with with longbows!!!

Also, do we want to try to get to Communism, so we can build Spys? I am a little worried that Gahndi or Mansa is going to go for space... I'd like to have the option to sabotage them if they try...
 
I don't know if spy will be effective, first, we won't have that much money to sabotage considering we need to jam up the :culture: slider as high as possible. Second, it means we need to go SciMethod, kind of contradict what I said above. :D But I am okay with it ... I am also worried abt Gandhi.

If you guys think we can make it, we could actually go for Steel - Railroad to get Machine Gunners -- the ultimate defense unit.

Ture, I didn't think about the $$ needed for sabotage. The other option would be to *try* to screw around with those AI's and get someone to declare war (maybe on Vicky :evil:) so they won't build the ship fast enough...

Actually, maybe best if I don't play any SGs today... it's my wife's birthday... So maybe just go ahead and sit on this one for a day or two :)

Sorry about turning the slider to 80%. I thought that was what we wanted since we were worried we wouldn't win. I guess I was wrong, sorry.

My guess is the save is so large is because we are playing on a large map instead of standard. Is VQ03 on a standard or large? Oh how can I post up the save? I appreciate GreyFox linking it up but I don't want to inconvenience him every time I'm up.

:lol: The rate we go through turns taking a couple day break right now is fine. Especially since our games seems to go about three times faster than most SG's here on this forum.

Can we stop at rifleman? 16 base strength to 20 is not too much of a difference and we save us alot of turns of research.
 
We could stop at Rifling (1400 :science:) compared to AssemLine (2600 + Steam:1800 + Corporation:1400 = 6800 :science: :eek:). But remember, most troops have experiences, so the lower your base strength is, the more disadvantages you will face when fighting a unit of higher base strength.

Don't worry too much abt the culture slide :smoke:, we are all learning this game. In fact, its reassuring to see that this is doable by your "experiment" of pushing the :culture: up :lol: (I am always filtering out the negative aspects and finding something good and bright abt everything!)

Guys, found a solution for the file too big problem.

OK, I meant to get some details posted (as well as the save) but my cable was down.

I found out why on my way into work thos morning; someone crashed into a utility pole just down the hill from my house and took a bunch of wires out... Crazy drivers...

Anyways... Yes, I got Rifiling from Cyrus for Chemistry and Education. I figured giving him 2-for-1 won't hurt since he's about even with us in score and far from the tech leader. I started building a couple riflemen.

I got Judaism spread a bit more, now our 3 culture cities have all our religions. I am building our last Hindu temple, and then we only have to focus on more Judaism spread.

I chose Pisea for Hermatige, since it is the furthest behind in culture, and the 100% bonus will help it to catch up quick. I chose Rome for National Epic, since it seems to be the best for getting some more GPP.

Getting all our buildings up in the culutre cities seems like it's taking forever... our produciton sucks in those cities :lol:

I'll post the save later tonight when (hopefully) home has Internet back up...
