There was. The Geneva convention was created in the 19th century and the main problem was that the Generals couldn't break the deadlock so they tried attrition and human wave tactics as well as the creation of new methods of attack.
I know that there were two previous Geneva conventions relating to sick & wounded (1864) and the survivors of shipwrecks (1906). I was stating that there were no conventions relating to biochemical warfare (1925) & prisoners of war (1929).
There is a true story of German pocket battleship captain who did'nt quite understand the Geneva convention so whenever he attacked shipping he would capture the crew of the merchant ship first and then sink it.
They just released a WW1 scenario by Firaxis, I played it and this one looks so much better. This will be the best mod if you just make sure to add in trenches as an improvement that give +100% defense or something.
i think deutchland should have one. i would have left america and fought for imperial germany if i could. that is if i was around 18 and was fluent and german.
