War themes

Now that I know I'm not the only one who longs for War themes, I'll put my very unpopular opinion out there, feel free to hate me...

Ancient era songs I find those completely bland.
Medieval era songs I find the vast majority boring.
Industrial era songs have some really great ones. America, Arabia, England, Germany, Greece, Netherlands, Cree, Brasil, Korea, etc.
Atomic era songs are not very different from Industrial.

I'd rather have Civ5's two good songs (one guaranteed to be good) for every civ as opposed to Civ6's one possible good song for every civ.

Most of the secondary themes are instrument solos. None of them on par with songs like MissingInAction, Yalel, Ellipse, Infant Emperor from Civ5.

But for Scotland and Russia I find every single iteration to be spectacular. Especially Russia has singing that makes Atomic version drastically different from Industrial one. On par with my favorite song in the game, which has to be Sogno di Volare. I love every single detail of that song. From instruments to lyrics to intro video that plays with it.

Yeah, I'd be for getting war themes back. Not a big deal for me, but it was a nice complementary part of Civ V.

I'm sure no one hates ya... :backstab: ;)
But quite a few of us do like the stripped down themes as well as the full orchestral arrangements that appear late in the game. I don't think anyone will ever say that their most favorite is the ancient version of X theme; but they definitely project an innocence and freshness, which fades with that progression throughout time.
I'm with you on Sogno di Volare! It's awesome; and as much as I love Baba Yetu, I wish more people would embrace Tin's newer masterpiece having its time in the sun

I do find Civ VI's approach to themes is a bit repetitive. There's much more similarity between Kongo's Civ VI industrial and Atomic theme than between England's Peace and War theme from Civ V.

Also, due to a lack of licensed music for background playing, you hear other civs' leader themes a lot more in Civ VI than in V, even despite the unique ambient music for Civ VI in ancient and/or medieval eras.

Many people on YouTube have also noted the Atomic themes tend to be reskinned Industrial themes with more bells and whistles.

That being said, Civ V and VI feature good music. I just think V had more drama and variety in the music, even if VI features more music tailored to each specific Civ.

Tin has a Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/project...bum-by-christopher-tin-baba-yetu-civilizatio/

It's well on its way to becoming the most funded classical music Kickstarter ever.
