Warhammer Fantasy Mod 2.0

Do I have to install the PWT latest patch?
I have C3C's latest patch.

When I install this mod, will I still be able to play Conquests? I just bought Conquests, and the only reason why I bought it was to play this mod. But than I found out that the scenarios in Conquests are awsome!

I'm currently downloading the mod and patch right now....and it's going to take 10 hours....I have slow internet....

Please answer my questions.

You only need the Conquests patch, not Play the World.

Yep :) You play this mod through the "Civ Content" menu option; it doesn't change any of the files for the standard epic game or for the Conquests scenarios.

Hey, where are the maps and scenario for this mod? The read-me says I can get them, but I can't find it in this thread.

Anyone know?
 
Wow... this is the best Civ3 mod I've ever seen. :goodjob:

I have only one major complaint... there are no Warhammer orcs in this game, just LOTR orcs. For one thing, there are no Wargs in warhammer... orcs ride boars. Also, none of the orcs have green skin... and they have kind of a weird body shape... the Ironclaw leaderhead looks great, but it doesn't look at all like it's from warhammer.
Sorry to be such a stickler... I can't help it. :(
 
True. no official Scenarios or maps have been released. Though some people Billy Rubin myself and others have posted some throughout the thread in the last ten should be were they are.

This kind of bothered me a little too, but I'm happy to accept them for what they are. Going by the most recent White Dwarf though, it would seem that wargs do exist in the WH world after all- or at least, a fierce wolf called a "Whargan" exists. Which is close enough for me...
 
Spelling Police, all the greenskin units made by embryodead have green skin. They're Snotling, Goblin Spearman, Goblin Archer and the chariot. But as a civ need more than 4 units he's had to use other units too.
 
Well he wasn't complaining about the goblins amyway ;) You are right though, he had to use the other units available, which are good enough. Besides, the Orc warrior and Orc Infantry units are clearly green (although the infantry unit is named somewhat ironically, "Black Orc").

Adding another voice to the chorus of praise for this mod...

When play as Khemri I've noticed a lack of offence after the dark ages (skeletons never seem to cut the mustard against pikes and stronger), Have you considered adding kinboats excellent egyptian knights as Ushabti? what with the animals heads and all you could probably just resize them a bit and they'd look great.

even if you don't i'll probably add them in to my copy anyway - any recommendations on where to put them/strength? (I was thinking 10-11/6/1 with the anubus head one made by the black pryamid and the the other one with dark arts/necromancy for 100+)
 
I recall I made this change myself a while back, and I included them as similar strengths/ costs as Kroxigor~Troll type units, so it sounds like you've got the right idea. I think I made it come with Elementalism, since they're animating inanimate constructs rather than the dead. I wouldn't bother having a pyramid spawn them though.

Oh yes, and if you do add a unit to your game, remember to add it to the list of stealth attack targets for ninjas, assassins etc.
 
Can someone help me?

This is my first game of WFM2. I just got the whole game of C3 in one box just for this mod. I keep on getting this error message now:

FILE NOT FOUND

"Art\Units\English Pikeman\..\Archer\ArchVicYell.wav"

The game will now exit.

Can someone help, pl? :sad:
 
You probaly havent instaleld it properly though the installer should ahve done that automaticly.
 
Sounds more like a non-standard version causing trouble. The only solution right now, I beleive, would be to delete that line from the ini for now, then every other line that causes such problems. Too much trouble to be worth it, probably.

I was playing a game a bit earlier, and just as I was getting to use all the Dwarfs' lovely late-game machinery, I made an embassy with the Dark Elves. Their capital had a production of 157 shields... whoa.
 
Can i Have some help please,

A friend of mine without internet access tried to install this mod but when the instalation splash comes up its stays on for only a couple of seconds and closes, does the installer any particular software ie .net framework, cos im completly stumped, And its not me honestly

I have scanned this thread couldnt find nothing, but its 80 pages long, shows how good it is i suppose,
 
Have you installed the mod with the downloaded exe. I know that when I downloaded this mod the first time, it didn't work so I had to download a second time.

If you have successfully installed the mod, why don't you send your friend the unpacked files directly.
 
Has anyone considered or played in a multiplayer version of WHv2.0?

It strikes me as a fairly long term prospect, but with 4-5 human players with a group of AI factions it might be interesting. There are so many different ways to win and the tech tree is very deep with possibilities.
