Warhammer Fantasy Mod 2.1

Thanks Kairob and Mrtn.

I followed the instuctions and omitted the advisors update, loaded right up.

I will now search the board for the WH world map. I saw the link a few pages back.

I am an avid WH and WH40K player, so if I see anything out of sorts over the course of playing I will respectfully post.

Thanks to all who made this mod! It is my first and I am looking forward to it.

Welcome to CFC Louislion! Nice to see another Warhammer enthusiast!
!

@ stormrage: The Kislevites in Warhammer (the actual warhammer not civ warhammer) do actually train bears as mounts. check out the Gamesworkshop site for more. it would be nice if it was a mount though maybe for eliet cavalry units... Hint Hint...
P.S. rofl! SUZIE!! HE HE!! I love it!!

@ Mrtn: Which patch is supposed to be installed to C:\program files\...\Civilisation III\Conquests???
It would be nice if Kislev got Bear riders go here for info:

I`ve seen that bear dude - but it was over here - http://oz.games-workshop.com/games/warhammer/kislev/background/gods.htm

I understand what you are talking about, but still, the bear rider is not in the game, so the bear resource shouldn`t have anything to do with mounted units. And now I will stop replying to this bear thing, or the Tribunal will spank me :)

That bear rider is an historical leader of Kislev, they are not common mounts (Rare even compared to Griffons!).

*sigh* Ok, Ok, Ok. the bear thing was kind of spontaineous and i know it is not in the game and all that shinannigans so im just going to drop it right here.

@ Mrtn: Ta, ill re-download again and hopefully it will work this time :)

Two apparent bugs:
AI races can build cities on Tundra. They don't ever build on Mountain, Swamp or Desert, so this looks like a setting that was missed when Tundra became unbuildable.

Leaders are confused. War leaders can instabuild anything EXCEPT great wonders. The Archwhosits of Whatsit can ONLY instabuild great wonders. Seems like this should be reversed. Science leaders can instabuild anything.

A suggestion:
For the civs that can't clear forest, maybe there could be something that they could build that gave Forest squares a +1 bump to food? That way you could have cities in the deep forest for Loren.

Sure they aren't building the cities on Tundra Forest?

Yes. They went right past the forest square to colonize a coastal sqare with a river boundary. They then built three more cities on tundra squares.

I had already taken the decent sites, and was planning how to build the remaining area once I got Nature Lore. They took my Beast square, durnit!

This is not a bug. Mr. Do apparently changed it in his 2.1a version, but it's not been changed in the "official" version.

Leaders are hard coded like that.

That's impossible. (Yes Stormrage, two times in one post, you can laugh now...)
However, you can use the LM Forest for the elves in premade maps. :)

Okay. I didn't check to see whether I could build up there. Guess I should have.
Note that the Civilopedia entry for Tundra should be updated now that raptors are gone.

Right, and now that I check, the military and science leaders work according to their Civilopedia descriptions.

The Grand Theogonist of Sigmar, however, does not. He's supposed to speed production the way the military leader does, but instead can only speed production on Great Wonders (nothing else). To that extent, the Grand Cathedral is nice, but the unit it produces isn't all that exciting in the late game. Not that that matters, really, but the Civilopedia description should be updated.

That's impossible. (Yes Stormrage, two times in one post, you can laugh now...)

C'est la vie.

By the way, speaking of Civilopedia entries, the entry for Palace shows a cost of 100, but I'm pretty sure it's closer to 300.

:) :) :) HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!! :) :) :)

Sorry, had to get that out of my sytem.

I noticed the setback that the Wood Elves can't chop forest down too, so i made Loren all Ancient forests and bumped it up to 2 food / square in premade my maps. (also dotted Ulthuan with Ancient forests)

Theoretically you could make a bonus resource only visible with the Wood Elves' unique tech to give them a boost in forests, but I doubt you'd ever see a massive woodland realm in the game for them even with this addition... that's if the mod makers want even more work to do !

Very nice Looking units there Ripptide.
Nice find Stormrage, they would look nice in-game methinks.

Just a quick question, has anyone started working on a Civ4 Warhammer fantacy mod yet? i know there is a 40k mod but is there a fantasy one *yet*?

There once was a map build for this mod with all the cities of the various civilizations determined. The original countries and borders were intact this way (at the beginning of the game that is ;-)

Can anyone recall this map (and give the link)?

Thanks one forehand!

(PS what are the plans for Civ4 :-D )
