For testers, here's an updated unitinfos.xml file that solves the "pink circle" problem.

PS I notice that High Elves are #1 again! Woot!

PPS This file is for the latest version, uploaded yesterday

A couple of things here.

First, here is a link to what GW will and will not allow regarding their Intellectual Property:

We can use what we need, as long as they get credit for thinking the stuff up in the first place.

With that in mind, As far as titles go:
War in the Old World: A Warhammer Fantasy Battles Mod

I'm going to d/l as soon as the new version comes out, to see what text needs work.

Oh, and please add me to the list of playtesters

I know that units have to be in any city to be sold as mercenaries, but either way they show up before the bug I got, just coudn't put into selection mode. After my unit was hired out the first time, absolutely nothing showed in the hiring choice window.

Ok, hold the presses!

I just downloaded the new UnitInfos (gah, new game! But that's not the point...)

I get a CTD every time I end my very first turn. Not matter what I change, builds, research, I get the standard windows error message, saying illegal operation. I was Karl Franz, Noble, Terra, Quick.

I don't receive this error. That's strange. Did you play Franz before and it worked?
 
No, I was Marco Colombo (EDIT: I also get the error with him)... Dunno if it matters, but I did play AGAINST Franz...

Can't reconstruct the error your settings work fine on my game, sorry. Delete the mod and reinstall putting the fix again in case you just put the file wrong. It should def. work. The fix doesn't change anything with the Leader and game settings normally.:confused:

Ok, I played a new game with Warhammer Beta .5 which fixed my crash problem, but I'm still getting the pink circle bug. Haha, the errors don't stop... Also, are regular vanilla scouts still supposed to be in game? I got one from a native hut...
 
I have finished my first unit/charater. A first test...................maybe you all can see it soon in game.:) or an image here ;)
 
When this test works wel and is good.........( the one i have send to you ) then a lot is possible including animations and texturing. I'm just waiting for the test results ;) I have take a look at the examples and look at the structure........... with more time ( have my work as well ) and trying it can be done !yes!

What i have seen from animations yet is that they are inside the nif files. So i think that when they are mixed direct in 3ds max for example and then converted to a nif both, hanging head and mixed animation can fast be done. I believe to that creating a charater from zero ( like the one i have send) gives less problems. ( again if it work fine.)

Good to hear the letter! And ofcourse take your time it's not pressing.

I want to check your unit now. Did you base it on an existing modell? I need a similar bonestructure for the animation and don't know which model.
 
The model is compleet created by myself. no conversion !!!! just the animations i have token from a example file and replaced, and skinned the new mesh to it, including my own texture and uvw settings. So short.......animations are from civ 4 the all other self made.

I see but what was the name of the example, it will probably only work with this or similar.
