Warhammer Mod 2.0 Preview

It looks awe inspiring to say the least! My vocabulary and the list of emoticons is woefully insufficient, but I can say I'm looking forward to this more than ROME : Total War. A question though...

Are the system specs just to play it increased (Storm over Europe comes to mind here) though or does a slower system digest it easily - I believe you had multiple scenarios etc in mind?

Being a tester of this mod I just want to say that I have never ever enjoyed any mod more than I did with this one. It is REALLY good.

Keep up the good work ed:thumbsup:

For the mod, systems specs don't change - it all depends on the size of map / number of cities and units after all. For scenarios, there is no "historical reference", apart from the wars themselves, so I don't have to put 500 units on the map. I don't like scenarios that load 15 minutes, so I intend to have short loading times myself.

Another unit, High Elf Swordmaster:

The system specs come to play, in case you are playing with as many factions as there is: this mod adds - what - +300 extra units, and if they all are in the game, then you'd better have a lot of RAM :)

BTW, this is good mod  :p - and that's why I really enjoyed helping ED :)

I can't wait to see my competition for best Fantasy mod. The PtW and C3C conversion had me afraid that I wouldn't be able to reach near the same level. Now I have surpassed the original, but this 2.0 has me worried again about falling behind. ;)

Looks great ED!

This mods release is bittersweet for me, but worth it. I had a scenario in mind that I will do as soon as it is released and then upload it.

This is a screenshot from my current game as the Empire. Chaos has just got the stuffing beaten out of them by yours truly. :D In the screenshot can you see my Reiksguard knights, as well as Knight Panthers, created by the wonder of the same name. In the left corner you may also notice a Templar of the Fiery Heart and an old Cavalry army.

I've been following your mod since the very beginning of the first version. In fact, right now, we are still playing your mod, anxiously awaiting the release of your newest version. From the screenshots, your attention to detail, and the amount of heart and energy you've put into this project since day one has me not only highly anticipating this release, but more than 100% confident that it will be as enjoyable as anything else I've played before.

On a side note, your mod has forced a number of us to clean the dust off some of our miniature armies and launch them back into war. Bretonnian Grail Knights - kicking but on the tabletop as hopefully soon again in the vitrual world.

Thanks again

V

Actually I don't think Grail Knights are in the mod as yet- but if anyone makes a suitable unit for them in the future, they'd fit in well with a Holy Grail wonder for the Bretonnians...

You need more playing time my friend.
Brettonia builds Questing Knight, available with The Grail Quest tech. :) They get this tech instead of Knightly Orders...
They're 9/7/3 too, really kick-*bottom*...

they were?
Is that really +1 attack & +2 defence compared to regular knight?
Never played the Bretonnians... well, it's an UU allright :)
+1 on both.

"I don't think Grail Knights are in the mod"

Questing Knight =/= Grail Knight

I'm not worried about Bretonnia. I always crush them early on. More excited about the Dwarves and the Empire.

*Drags face across the floor* Is it the first week of August yet?

Sir, you have cut me and mine to the quick! Crush them? Bah! A battalion of questing knights supported by their doughty halberdiers can lay waste to your plodding dwarves or destroy your decadent empire. Gunpowder means nothing against the thunderous charge of a thousand knight bachelors! Into the valley of death, rode the 600...

I'd be interested in building a large map of the Old World - focusing on the 'European' area - for this, if anyone is interested in playing on it.

But I wouldn't like to do any more to it - like setting up force dispositions, etc.

If people are interested in playing on such a map, and if someone would setup the map for playability, I would be happy to do this...

:p Sorry. Well maybe I'll try them in the new version. I'm not a War Hammer buff, never knew what it was outside some kind of RPG, until this mod was made. I've learned a lot since. I struggled to crush anyone with dwarves usually until gunpowder, but with the Empire. Griffons and Dragons crushed everyone. I even had around 450 griffons in one game. ;) I like to swarm.
