Warlords Patch 2.08 Released!

Just answered my own question: installing the Tech Dealer 2.08 patch over an existing Firaxis 2.08 patch doesn't fix it. Had to uninstall/re-install Warlords then apply the Tech Dealer 2.08 patch. Works fine, sans CD, now!
 
AAAAAUUUUUGGGGGHHHHH!!!!! My computer is ********! I messed up a file in the origonal game and uninstalled both. Then reinstalled both, forgot about the patch. Started the game, worked fine. Installed patch, went back to game, couldn't find a certain .dll file. Went to look for it, found a whole bunch of small files with the .txt icon, but not .txt extension (forget what it was, but I'm using a different computer right now) and I couldn't find it! I uninstalled Warlords, tried to unistall vanilla but it wouldn't let me, then I reinstalled Warlords and the patch and it worked fine. I was so scared :scared: I could never play Warlords again!!! I'm so relieved.

Oh, and speaking of ********, once in [c4w] multiplayer lobby chat, everyone was talking about ******** things and I kept mispelling ******** (retarted) and someone said

Does anyone know how to solve the plz insert CD problem with the patch? Apart from a no-CD exe, of course. Cheers.

i had that problem and i had another cd drive so i just tryed a few times and i think i just opened the game with the cd in the second drive... although if u dont have a second drive i dont know... just a thought...
 
Hello guys, I am sorry if that question was already answered, but...
I have a problem that with my version of 2.0.0 it says no updates available. I do have internet running at that point and it is a DVD Civ4+CD Warlords version. What's wrong and how do i go about it?
 
Sorry to bother you all, I have Civ4-Warlords*English Version) installed in my computer, that I bought from Cyberfront-2K, I downloaded the patch 2.08, but when it goes to install it, it says there is no game intalled in my computer.A friend of mine has the same problem.Does anybody know how can I fix that?Thanks in advance, rebakan

Cyberfront makes the japanese version of civ4?
I am guessing you have the japenese version, but set to english language..

Try Cyberfront's version of the 2.08 patch..

Cyberfront makes the japanese version of civ4 set to english language.Because of that, I can't enjoy any of the special mods made here, even if I already have the 2.08 patch.If they are .exe files, they don;t find SidMeyer's game.Do you know what I can do to fix that? Sorry to bother you.

Most of the mods that has that problem is because they check the registry for where the game is installed..

make an entry in the registry:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4 - Warlords]
and inside this a string value INSTALLDIR (for me it is E:\Civilization4\Warlords)

some mods may check for the patch version installed.. in that case it looks for the existence of [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4 - Warlords\2.08]

a few mods may also check for the values for vanilla..
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4]
and an INSTALLDIR value inside this

also [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\1.61] (empty key)

Here's probably something asked several hundred times before, but not sure how to 'search' on it:

If I patch my Warlords from unpatched to 2.08, can I still load saved games that I started on the unpatched Warlords?
