WarNes: Quick and Easy 1936 Nes

From Britain
To Soviet Union

We do not claim you are trying to do so, but if you are trying to gain influence in China or extend your terrortories there, back off or it's war.

From: The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics
To: Great Britain

What, can you now intercept our transmissions between us and China? Can we not offer support for a solidified China? No. Let us warn you.

Relations between Moscow and Nanjing wax warm. Britain has no presence in Asia.

In fact, we, in our snow and ice, accuse the British of starting an anti-Bolshevik conspiracy! This Anti-Comintern Pact to try to limit us. This policy of containment formed what I suspect to be twenty years too early by a person of the wrong nationality.

We can handle the Japanese; they're in our lake. Why don't you take a hint and stay in yours?

OOC: I'm so confused - since when did Britain help out the Chinese so much? I'm sure people at home must be protesting. :crazyeye:

OOC: Historically, A.J.P Taylor argues Chamberlain's appeasment was about being able to deal with the Japanese. Britain has had a traditional role preserving the balance of power, and the Soviet Union is the most likely power to disrupt it.

We invite your Fuhrer to visit with Il Duce in Rome in hopes of further talks reguarding our two nations

He's a dirty revisionist. Do you want to listen to revisionists? ;)

All I know with regards to A.J.P. Taylor is that he argued that appeasement caused World War II in conjunction with reparations. I've read some of his writings, but I guess not the part where he said that it was intended to combat the Japanese.

I thought the British were trying to appease Japan anyway so they wouldn't do crazy things. :crazyeye:

So, Mussolini was really a Spaniard! I knew it all along!

OOC: I am pretty sure Italy wants Germany to take it's historical path. I hereby OOC warn Germany and Italy that taking the path of their historical counterparts will lead to failure much quicker then that which happened in World War II. Why? We'll all see it coming.

I got a question, Mr. Mod!

How much money do you think would be appropriate in "technology"? What kinds of technology should we say we're going to be researching? Must I name models, or can I be vague and just say "tanks"?

You want IC? I've been giving it. ;)

To: USSR
From: German Reich

Rest easy, my friend, it was a defensive alliance against an ideology, not against the USSR. And it is specifically said that it was a defensive alliance, not an pre-emptive defensive one, so that we won't take any actions unless Germany herself is attacked. Therefore, your vigorous protest is nonsensical.

From: The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics
To: The German Reich

Mr. Ribbentrop, please, do not take me for a fool. Surely this overwhelming stupidity is not within your bounds. Sometimes I have to stop and remind myself that you think us Russians fools. Well no longer!

Clearly it says "indirectly". This Anti-Comintern Pact obviously is indirectly aimed towards the Soviet Union! The conditions upon joining were specifically aimed at containing the USSR! The only countries invited were those bordering the Motherland. Do not pretend this is a case against Mongolia, Sinkiang, Tannu Tava, or even Communist China. This is clearly something against the USSR.

I protest again. Withdraw from the alliance!

Without trust and goodwill there can be no peace. What we did was not at all against the USSR. Do not push our stability any further.

Orders send.

From: Turkey
To: The world

The Turkish people are looking for friends in these times.
Therefor we ask for nations to trade and perhaps ally with.

Taking Netherlands.

From Great Britain
To Turkey

We are willing to sign an offensive&defensive alliance.

Can I play the Philippine military under the rule of Douglas McArthur (i.e., he's pretty much in control of the military assets of the Philippines, including ethnic Filipino troops)? I'll refrain from actually spending anything--I'll just be in for the possible war--because I'll just be a general.

I, the United States of America, will not protest. Welcome to the Phillipines General Douglas Mcarthur. Perhaps you can watch the Japanese and Russians for us. ;)

From the United States of America

Withdrawn, due to strong protests from Congress.

Pushing your stability? What about our stability, when we are invaded by hostile forces? I should think that a pact against the Soviet Union would be far more detrimental to the Soviet Union's stability than it would be against the aggressor nations.
