Warning to you gamers, don't go to china.

Not only they started doing that, they are also setting up clinics that can "cure video game addictiveness", and other words, they saying we are a disease. Not only did they started doing this, but also Korea, and England are setting this stuff up too.

I think its pretty hard to deny that some people can become addicted to video games. If it becomes the sole meaning of your existance, then some pretty harsh intervention needs to be applied.

I think its pretty safe to say that you can become addicted to anything and everything.

The reason why i'm saying this to you people who are going to china or so, don't, why? cause China is now becoming a anti-gamer state, where you can only play video games for 3 hours in a cyber cafe.
That's funny, I don't see anything here, or in the inner cities. So called 'internet cafes' (more like LAN gaming centers) here merely keep minors out and ask people to have their IDs with them (just in case the police suddenly decide to check) but there's no rules at all about how long people wish to stay and play. A 3 hour cap? C'mon! What Chinese will throw away business just like that?

In fact I've seen so called 'iron men':
1) You go there in the morning and see this guy playing an online MMORPG.
2) You go back in the afternoon and he's still there. The ashtray beside him is full now.
3) You return again at night, he's still there. And eating noodles.
4) You return the next afternoon, he's still there! And still wearing the same clothes.

Odds are he's there permanently until his stamina gives out. I've seen people spawled on their seat and sleeping. :crazyeye:

Well it's true. :p You should be studying. or working.

Glad I am in the United States. Though we have less sevear limitations on games *grumble* no thanks to Senator Clinton and Senator Joseph Leberman.

My conclusion: you can buy cigarettes at internet cafe's. :smug:

I don't believe this 3-hour-max rule.

Yes. And I hate it. Having to inhale 2nd hand smoke sucks.

You can also buy drinks (non-alcoholic) and snacks at internet cafes here. If you know the phone number of nearby restaurants you can also call and order food to be delivered to you. :) Very convenient for game junkies.

Hehe, over here in the states we have the almightly Jack Thompson.

Funny guy, that one.

It's always interesting when we get one of these moved threads in here. Crazy CIV players.

If you're going to avoid China, I'm sure you could find far better reasons than restricted video cafe hours.

Er... England aren't doing this. If they are, I haven't heard of this.

Don't go there in the summer that's for sure, my grandparents did, big mistake.

I'd probably be much more productive if I didn't play games. Then again, if someone can be addicted to games so easily, then they can probably be addicted to other things when games are taken away.
