Waste and Corruption

Hi!

I have a problem with "Waste and Corruption": I'm playing with the Americans and the capital is on the east side of the USA (on a real world map, democracy, about 30-40 cities). The cities on the west side produce just one shield, all other are wasted.

What can I do?

Corruption is the source of many discussions on other posts, and you can find a lot of good suggestions in those posts. But your basic strategies are:

1) Install the patch...it helps some
2) Build the forbidden palace on the other side of your civ from your palace; it becomes a second strong center of your civ..(one strategy some have used since it takes so long to build the forbidden palace at one shield per turn is to bid the forbidden palace close to your original capital city, and then build a new palace on the other side of the civ)
3) Build the courthouse....it is the primary building that reduces corruption, although the effect is relatively minor
4) Use civ edit to adjust certain settings including increasing the optimal number of cities on each map size, and flagging other buildings such as the bank, cathedral, and police station to also reduce corruption.
