Weak AI??

Something I would like to know about the MOD before I install it:

Is the AI as weak as in AND?
Does it create Airforces?
Does it attack you even if you are the strongest ??

That's basic BtS AI behaviour. But it is being looked at.

There is always (lots!) of room for improvement, and the basic BtS AI framework is not exactly ideal, but AI work is somethign I come back to from time to time most releases. It has been tweaked a fair bit since AND. Noteably:

  • City placement is somewhat improved
  • City build priorities are significantly improved
  • The tendency to spam-build large navies and then not use them has been addressed (though on the build side rather than the usage side largely)
  • City defensive unit deployment has been tweaked considerably, so that a portion of the defensive force will station itself on defensible tiles near the city, rather than all hiding in it
  • AI civic choice decision making has been improved significantly
  • AI tech choices have been improved with more regard to bee-lining and so on
  • The AI will now guard workers in dangerous areas
  • The AI is now a lot more REV-aware than it was
