I don't know where the folders are for those things, but(at least in Civ4 and Civ5)you can change the names of your cities from their default names. And you can also name your civ before launching the game on Civ4 and Civ5. On Civ4, I think there's a button somewhere that does that. On Civ5, right before you start a game, there's a button that says "Edit", and it allows you to change your Civ and leader name.

And welcome to the forums!

The file is located in Computer -> OS (C:) -> Program Files (x86) -> Steam -> Sid Meier's Civilization V -> Assets -> *DLC -> Expansion2* -> Gameplay -> XML -> Civilizations -> Civ5Cities (Or something named similarly)

The smiley face is not meant to be there, but I cannot get it away!

*-This can also be "Expansion" on it's own for the G&K civs, and just skip this bit if you want to edit the vanilla ones. I think it's the same for all the DLC civs as well.

Well, I'm Doktor Vic Tim and stuff, I got into Civ V because some friends were playing it and decided to join in, and I got hooked.

I'm not really that good, and mostly fart around on Prince difficulty. Sometimes King.

Hello All
Thanks to the Admin guys bfor making me welcome and hopefully all of you out there.
Completely new to Civilization V. I am well past pensionable age so a bit slow on the uptake. I would welcome any advise on how to adopt a peaceful existance within the game I am thinking of starting in Siam. Any thoughts or guidance would be welcome
Thank you

I recently downloaded the SDK (worldbuilder) for Civ V and created a scenario. As has too often been the case with much of Sid Meyer's/ Firaxis work, the scenario making SDK is user UNfriendly and profoundly unintuitive for anyone who is not an expert at writing software/ computer geek. Nonetheless I made a simple one. My question is, now that I have done so, I am unable to discover any means to transfer the scenario from the SDK folder to the game itself so i can actually try and play it. Any ideas? Thanks. -Eve

In the World Builder all you have to do to play your map is to save out the map, and it automatically goes to a folder where you can play it. You select it by going to advanced setup in game, clicking on the button to choose your map type, and then find the name of your map in the drop-down list.

Welcome to Civfanatics, btw.

Hello!

I'm new on this forum (obviously). :-)

Currently playing Civ 5 - Brave new world on
Chieftain level.

I absolutely LOVE this game. Beats every other
game in the same category.

I'm an old Settler player and also play occasionally
'Total War' - but Civ 5 is definitely much better.

Since '´Brave new World' is rather new - at least
here in Europe - are there any fixes I should know
about?

Thank's guys!

Hi hi ,
i am new to this forums too and a lurker, i guess
King/emperor player here but i suck : )

Hello all!

I have been lurking for a few weeks so I decided to finally join in. I play Civ 5 with BNW with most of the DLCs. I am not super great at the game, (usually Prince/King) but I love playing it regardless! I'm hoping to learn more from some vets along the way.

Hey, I'm Prof. Platypus. I'm new to Civilization 5 (But i did play Civ Rev) and I could use any tips as to strategies and such. I love history and is the main reason I'm obsessed with the Civ games. Thinking of going back and playing Civ IV, should I? and if so any advice?
Hope I'll be a good member of the CivFanatics Community! :)

Here's a strategy I use for capturing cites in Civ 5 (must be in late era's)
1: Nuke the city you're going for
2: Have aircraft (with city promotion) bombing the city until it's like a tiny bit health left
3: Send in either a Mech Inf, Modern Armor or a Death Robot and attack the city
If the city is small, don't use nuclear weapons. Just bomb the city with the aircraft you have.

hi all ,i've been fanatic since civ 2,finally got pc capable of running civ5 so i'll give it a shot:)

Hello everyone! I've been browsing these forums for a short while now and decided to actually become a member. I've played Civ V for many hours and recently got civ iv to experience some of the past games, much harder then I thought! :D I can win many times on Prince for Civ V but can't beat the Warlord difficulty on civ iv! Anyway you all have a great day. :)
