Welcome New Members

Long time listener, first time caller. Love the CIV game, contributes nicely to my slothing.

Anyway my computer has become loaded down with too much software (I'm a little bit out of my depth here, please bear with me) that requires space and my Civ3 game is the lowest priority. I have not had problems in the past uninstalling the program but I am now. Here is the initial message: Failed to Open DSETUP.DLL. Next window titled Unhandled Exception: "Description failed to load dll: DSETUP Set up will now terminate."

Have tried reinstalling with no luck. Help. Please.

Hi.
Im been going to CFC for about a year and have been looking at fourms (especially the succession games) when I got Civ IV.

:goodjob: I have been visiting this site for over a year but since I only have time to play the game , I've never tried to do make any of my own scenerios or maps. I own Civ 2, Civ2 conquests, all versions of Civ3, and now Civ4. I have really gotten a lot out of reading the articles that are posted. I know that those who write those articles must do it for love of the games because I'm sure you spent a lot of hours to gain the knowledge required to come up with all of those modpacks and strategy suggestions. They really helped me to get a better understanding of the game. Thanks and keep up the great work.

i can't believe i've waited so long to start playing these games....thanks for all the advice found on the site (this is the first game in the series that i have played)...i've ditched the x360/binge drinking/going out with my girlfriend for a computer game...awesome!!!

Hi. I'm new here. I'm a big fan of civ, smac and colonization. I've been playin since civ2 years ago. Now I'm an addict:crazyeye:! This is one civ great site. Glad to join CFC.

HELOO EVERYBODY,,,
this is my first message in this amazing site ,,, I'd like to say hello to everyone

Greetings all. Like many, long time player, first time poster. To my defence i've been busy... playing civ... well you know...

Played Civ for a couple of times, looking for more strategies and tips, and that's why I'm here:)

:goodjob: Hi to all the CIV world I have being plauing for many year but only now wanted to add a comment. The game is :king: I do like playing PTW Play the World. The best feature of the game is the ability to make new maps and to change the attribuites of the units its fun. Civ 111 is a great game and it was with much excitment I purchased the new CIV IV, WHOLE NEW GAME, and I will have to learn the new features.but i have one quick problem and question/
Why can the carriers not carry bombers, what is the use of having three fighters onboard? Logical to me is to use the crriers to moverd bombers and attach from the sea. Any answer, I hope I am inthe right thread to get an answer. Greeting to all CIV leaders.:)

New here as well. I've never played the Civ I or Civ 2, but started out with Civ III. Played it quite a bit, but it didn't totally enthrall me like Civ IV is doing. I'm addicted to the max. Been playing Rhys' earth map with the Americans recently. This site has been extremely helpful with all the tips and strategies. Thanks for having a place for me to go when I'm at work!

Hi, I'm yet another long-term addict.

Been playing way too much Civ since the ancient days of 1991 (and other Sid Meier/Microprose games before that, played the original Pirates! to death on my C64). Am now hooked all over again on Civ 4 after being somewhat disappointed in Civ 3.

Just one... more... turn....

Hey,
I started playing Civ IV because my boyfriend plays, and like Diablo before it, it has taken over my free time and I play it WAY too often :)

Just saying Hi to all, long time lurker, first time poster. Been playing Civ since Civ1 on my roomates Mac. I still blame all those long sleepless nights on my deterorating eyesight.

Civ4 is a pretty impressive game. If anyone can explain to me why after downloading the 1.52 patch I am unable to scroll along the screen with my mouse, to move the map I have to move to a corner and click so the screen recenters. I'm pretty sure I have checked all gameplay settings. This makes it cumbersome to move units.

I started with the DOS version way back when on my IBM 286... Those were the days.

I picked up Civ2 and Civ3 but for some reason they did not grab like the original did. But Civ4 has my full and undivided attention.

Still toddling along at chieftain level - I may take step up this weekend to next one up. Having some learning curve issues - old way of conquering the world in a hurry does not work here. I lost two of twelve conquered cities to my 'friends' to either side because their influence overwhelmed mine in the area.

Lesson learned - conquer city - wait for your influence to grow in the region, then conquer next city over.

My older son also went into gamelock, like I did. We may buy another version of the game to link up through the network and see how that goes.

Hello everyone. I've been playing Civ II MGE & TOT for some time. I came across this site as a consequence of playing Civ IV. There is a lot of good stuff here.
